Default T series

Ive just been looking through carsales.com.au and jesus the T series are going cheap. 20 grand-30grand is were most of them sit. I thought they would be alot more than that, after all arent they the AU supercar? I wouldnt dare trade in one of them for a BA xr8-GT.

Yeah they are cheaper than I thought too!

I would gladly swap my AU for one even though it wouldnt be as quick or have the good brakes or all the other mods that have been done to it.

yea for sure yours would be better in those areas, but who says you cant chuck a turbo or supercharger onto a TS50. you'd then by far have the Hottest AU supercar on the street. Have you seen the insides of those cars, classy as all hell.

I wouldnt agree with that comment. It would cost heaps to rebuild the 5.6 to suit boost then the block will split in half at 500hp or close to 300rwkw. Ive got that now without the need to take anything apart. It costs a hell of a lot for strong windsor parts to make some decent power.

The only benefits over my car would be the better dash, the V8 sound and the fact that I can say I own a T series.

Your car isn't a stock xr6 either : . Laminges modded T3 had a decent write up in PFM as well.

Both great cars tho.

He wasnt comparing a stock XR6 to the TE50, he was comparing my car to the stock TE50.

As I said above I would swap in a heartbeat if one with the right options came along.

Yeah thats a good point mate. It would want to be a damn good T3 for you to consider swapping.

They are pretty well priced. I've never been an AU fan but I'm seriously considering a TE or TS next year. Only prob is I want to supercharge my car current car, then move to a TE/TS later as well as the S/C. Powerdyne seems to have the goods for that but I'd need to double check.

Ahmm!.. you wanna swap?? He he. :

It's no T3, but the T1 TS50 has more features standard than T3 TS50 does. There wasn't much to option up on the T1 TS50's. Almost everything was standard. My TS50 is fully optioned including Sat Nav and Sunroof. The T3 TS50 is based on the Fairmont, the T1 TS50 (and T2 TS50) the Fairmont Ghia. So even little things like Traction Control, 4CH ABS, Speed dependent volume (radio adjusts volume automatically at different speeds), interior lighting, ect.. ect.. make it a bit more luxo than T3. If the T1 had the 5.6 250kw, and Brembo option, it would be the ultimate road going package for me. :

When I was looking for my XR I nearly bought (meaning I sat in got excited, didn't talk to the sales guy though, cause I knew it would be over if I did) a T2 TS or TE can't remember now manaual, blue// Until the insurance company didn't want to know about a 21 year old in a V8, cause it was going to be the daily I needed insurance so the XR6 won out... 4 years later Im thinking a T3 could be a goer soon... Man I don't know I change my mind more then my undies

Recommend King SL (KFFL-57SL) for the front, and King SSL (KFRL-67SSL) for the rear (IRS). About $230RRP, and 2 to 3 hours work later.. should be at a nice ride height.

if i was to buy these springs, would it need anything else desperately like a camber kit etc? would the rear wheels be on a huge angle like the commodore's with lowered springs? im pretty confident i could put these in myself.

Well here i am
I just dont know what to do
In the end i think i will buy a BA XR8 to use as a daily and keep the T3
the other option is to sell the T3 and buy a Mk II manual GT-P
decisions decisions

No,, it'll sit just fine, away you go! better steering, better ride hight, & better looks!!, just keep an eye on tyre ware for a month or two. if its not wareing the tyres dont bother about a wheel allinment.. :

Not really. Yes the camber does increase (about 1 degree from memory), but not as bad as the Commodores. They have a crappy (Datsun 1600 anyone?) IRS design. The IRS on the AU is way way way better in design. Another Holden rush job to be the first into the market.

Fit the springs, drive around for about a week, then get a four wheel alignment done. Got to a suspension specialist and get it done proper.. stay away from Bob Jane, Beaurepaires and the like.

My car has all that, except the traction control and the extra bits of cow and crome.
The T3 TS/TL50 has the works.
