what you have to realise is they get then at govco pricing with no tax ( GST) so when they sell them they will probably make a profit

C'mon ..... over the stupid and negative comments. 1 more FPV was sold .... and has made the media for the right reasons. I can absolutely promise you, the police did not pay retail, it was cheaper than a paddy wagon, is used for promo and it is not a Holden, WRX or something else foreign.

Cant some of you people just start seeing the positives for a change ..... ? Everything to some is just so glum!!!

Being the proud owner of the original "heat 6" turbo BA falcon , I will be watching like a hawk for this to come up at auction. We got ours at a sweet price at the auctions in brissy a couple of years ago but that would make a fine replacement IMO. Keep buying them boys in blue cause it makes it more affordable for us normal people.

I reckon this could be test bed for the HO. And I believe the car was located, and still could be in the south western part of Sydney.

"kinda smart", if you can out accelerate your bad guy at every turn,
it would be demoralizing,,, cant out run him may aswell give up.

No !, the whole idea is not to engage in a 250kmh chase that can be a public killer or even kill the speeding driver, nothing beats a radio or chopper.

there is no need for a fast police car becuase they have radios, road spikes and work as a team ect.

The quicker the police can overtake, the shorter the chase. Remember that the bad guy is already moving, and the officer is parked when the chase begins.

This soft approach is why there is so many crashes in abandoned pursuits now, the moron does not slow down when the pursuit is abandoned, and they are encouraged to drive dangerously to end the pursuit. Anyway, that is another argument.

So many positives about this

It is an Aussie built car.
Builds a bridge between the Highway Patrol and the modded car set.
May even show that modded cars are not evil
Gets people talking about the GT

No actually the whole idea is to bluff the idiots into thinking they have no chance so they don't misbehave.

The same reason why bouncers have "tough guy" mustaches, muscle shirts and tattoos.........

Bluff - agree and disagree... you watch HWP on 7/Prime last night ?
Perfect example with the goose on a new unregistered/uninsured bike which could outrun any HWP chaser...only got caught after slowing from 150kmh cause he couldn't ride and hit a car head on at roundabout...
When HWP talked to him they said "they were just about to call it off" the goose responded with "I was hoping that"
12 months jail, licence loss 2 yrs & I think $500 ? should have been double that - that's the deterent and more HWP vehicles actually on the road targetting these idiots - not PR or bluffs.

Ah, spoken like a true city dweller where they have a number of Helicopters, and other cars with spikes etc all close by.

In the rural/country areas the other 'team' members could be 100kms away and no amount of 'teamwork' on the radio will help them.
