Which is a shame. Closing the factory is the ideal time to close Ford Australia. Sack the staff and the corporate culture that they have developed and which undermines everything and tear up the franchise agreements with the dealers.

Form a new company. Hire clever, motivated people, put franchise agreements in place that actually support quality outcomes and customer experiences and start the whole show all over again.

Ford US had to do it in Australia once before and frankly - I think they need to do it again.

Don't forget the Camry and Aurion share a platform. So you have to take Camry numbers into account as well.

Hired a rental in Hobart from Avis last week.

Manager there said Ford were supplying Falcon XR6 cheaper than the Hyundai i20 package now.

So...I got the Falcon XR6 for 52 dollars a day ....

Might just be a turning point in sales?
