Default Thanks KPM!!!

Well, I have been home about an hour after getting my car back from KPM this arvo! I have really missed my car I might add! Hehe.

I would really like to say a big THANK YOU to David, Tim and the guys at KPM who worked on my car this week. To start with, I would like to say that you guys have been totally professional from the start - your workshop looks fantastic and I was treated really well. Every time I rang up poor Tim with stupid questions or wanted to change things, Tim was always so friendly and really knowledgeable and I really appreciated that. As a chic, it is not uncommon to get the exact opposite kind of treatment at a workshop so it was a really good experience!

My car... OMG it is like a new car! Maybe it was just driving my Dad's old AUI Fairymont all week, but MAN I LOVE MY CAR NOW! The clutch is quite heavy, but I got used to it really quick over the drive home and its great. I can just feel that it is Jac-proof!!! Not like the other three clutches. I might even be able to stall this one up to beyond 3000rpm without it breaking now!!!

The 4.11s feel totally amazing. Its just a whole new feel and it just feels so much gruntier off the line than before and it just wants to light up now! I cant wait to give it a real flogging and see how the LSD leaves TWO big black lines... hahaha.

I know, I know, I have to run the diff in for 500km... like no more than 85kmh on the freeway???? Sorry Tim, I had to go a little higher than that, given that I had big trucks up my backside going UP through the tunnels... but I did behave, honest! :P

The car just feels like it has so much more potential than it had before, like all that power is now able to be used at the wheels a lot better. This is going to translate to much better 60 foot times, I know it. And I reckon my ET is going to drop a bit in May, so watch out all of you above me in the B-series NA6 top 10!!!

I just have to remind myself to behave and settle down while it all runs in. I just cant wait to unleash it though!

So, in all seriousness, thank you so much to David and the guys for doing the work so well, for treating me so well and for being so helpful. I hope I can get 13s in May so you can see where your hard work went!

Here is my Mods Thread in the Contemporary Falcons section, if you want to keep updated on how the car is going with mods, pics, times etc....

Thanks again guys!

Jac

Well guys, I am finally home!!!

The car feels absolutely stunning! The tune, cams and the airbox have made so much difference and it feels great! It just feels like it has so much more power and grunt and I love it!!! It sounds awesome too!

I nearly lost it a few times coming home in the wet hehehe. I have to get used to this!!!!

Now with the 4.11s, the LSD and the all new engine bits and tune, its just a beast!!! I cant wait to race it!

I also really like the clutch, it is soooo much nicer - heaps better than before. No shuddering and it just feels really nice. I am VERY happy with that.

Thank you SO MUCH to David for all the hard work that you and the boys did on my car! You guys are so professional and the results are just sooooo good! David, you really do seem to love what you do, and it shows in your work. I have really appreciated how well I have been treated by all of you guys as well.

Tim, thank you too, for putting up with me ringing every day and asking stupid questions and for being so helpful, friendly and just a generally nice guy! I have really been very grateful for your kindness and knowledge every time I have rung KPM - I have never felt like a pest (even though I probably was hehehe)....

These cams and the tune are just amazing, and I havent even given it a REAL flogging yet... I just cant wait to race it, get a 13 and show David what his work can achieve!

I just need one of those new stickers that are on order.. you had better get me some before we leave for Melbourne!!!!! Hehe.

Thanks again guys!!!!

Jac

l have one problem with your car Jac.

One is l know you would have spent close to $4000 for the gains.
Two do you know which mod has givin your car the best outcome ie: torque, power.
As l have done with all vehicles l have modded l do one mod at atime to see what gains they have achieved, so in the case of chasing more or less power it's easier to work out what to change.

Plus also bang for buck also helps.

Cheers Chris

P.S Jac it sounds like your happy with what you have now.
Also good to see you have a TEX clutch now as they seem to have the toughest clutch for the BA-BF series.

Hey Chris, how are you?

I now have 190.1 rwkw and that is up from 164.1 rwkw (both on KPM dyno). The gain is with the following mods:

- cams as per David's package
- custom tune
- G&D airbox

The 164.1rwkw was including mods done the month before, including underdrives, 4.11s, LSD, 4495 Pacemaker headers (HPC), 3 inch Magnaflow metal core cat, twin XR6T cat back with middle mufflers replaced with stainless resonators plus it had a Unichip tune (Autotech) and JMM CAI from ages ago... that all = 164.1rwkw on KPM dyno.

I also gained approx 50Nm in torque. Torque went from approx 330rwNm to approx 380rwNm. I now have 5200N in tractive effort up from just over 4400N.

If I am wrong here anywhere, I am sure David will correct me.

I can tell you Chris, for a 6 cyl, its insane!!!!

Cheers

Jac

PS The Tex clutch is awesome, I am exceptionally happy with that!!! I wold recommend it to anyone!

Well Jac looks like a well worth mod and a pretty good gain from 164kw would be a different car to drive as this is almost a 30kw gain and something you would notice.

Will like to see it run a tidy number come Heathcote.

See you there.
