I keep hearing rumours here in WA of some multi-billionaire car guy buying up all the big ticket classic cars in the country for a new state of the art car museum and restaurant/cafe to be built somewhere in Melville (Perth, south of the river).
Apparently he recently paid $800K for the one off XY GTHO Phase 3 in Onyx Black. He's bought a couple of other XY GT's and select examples of each of the other models, including Holdens and other makes. So far he has spent close to $5M on his collection. Anyone else heard anything about it?

Yep, its true. He's getting a collection together but the cafe' part I don't know.
Was speaking with another WA collector only a few days ago who told me about this guy who he knows. Apparently he has set aside $13mil to get a collection together but only big ticket and top cars etc. |

Yes, the restaurant/cafe is definitely part of it.
And a function hall also. I am told his intention is to lure Shannon's to WA to hold some of their auctions over here. Is this guy Kevin Costner?

Would he be the same bloke who has the car museum in Gosford NSW, because that is where the black GTHO is (was ?), and all his other cars are big ticket.
