Sounds nice. I really like this one more (as in the pics) than current one we have now. I think I've written off 2017 for a new car but 2018 looks like a good option with this. I prefer 2 doors anyway

Would love to see Ford tool up and make the flat plane crank motor standard across the board for the Mustang V8. Now that would be something!

true ...but if a H/B cable breaks you can still park on the flat and leave it in gear....goodluck fixing your electric one at 10pm when youve been out for dinner with the mrs and its hammering down and the H/B wont release

I like it - beautiful machine. I think it oozes DNA from the original 1st generation model. Personally I did not like the 2/3/4 and 5th generation Mustang. The third generation was absolutely hideous to me, the 4th wasn't much better.
I think the current 6th generation is testament to the original. The DNA from the original is there and I think FORD just nailed it. I take my hat off to the team responsible for the new generation Stang. Very rarely does the new compliment the old, especially after 50 years, but I reckon they did it perfectly and the 2018 model doesn't disappoint. I think the way the pics have been done is great too. I'd hand over my hard earned for one.

G'day ..To be honest I've never had a huge interest in Mustangs , not to say I don't like them..I certainly do..Trouble is Falcon rules...Probably always will.

The chance to see them RHD in Australia now though is freakin' awesome .
Unfortunately I've only seen one so far at a distance. It was passing by 50 metres away and the Ecoboost , definitely not the mighty V8 and like the FGX Sprints it's hard to decide if you like a car via photos or video..Now I've had a close up look of the Sprints both V8 and Turbo 6...Wow. I want one.
.
To the Stang...Going by numerous reviews on YT and very recent ones in the US on the 2018 version...I think I prefer the looks of the previous variant..
The new one will share a 10 speed auto with the Camaro rival too.Don't like that idea..and the V6 will go too..Lots of interior upgrades will be good though..

Re 10 speed auto..Nup...Why ? It's supposed to be Ford's muscle car isn't it ?
IF i was to ever have a newer Stang..as unlikely as that is given availability , my age by the time there's a few used floating about and cost of same it'd have to be a the 5 litre N/A V8 with the six speed manual box..

Cheers Rod..

G'day .. Not including the 2018 of course but there is an awesome and I do mean awesome documentary out there for the design and development of the first Mustang for both US and world wide markets . It's a fascinating story , the deadlines to be ready for the 2014 50th Anniversary , the design issues , the way to market the car..etc.. The doco was called Supercar Superbuild Ford Mustang . It was shown on Discovery Channel ,Smithsonian and Quest . It's Series 1 Episode 7 on Discovery (where I saw it) and I'd be surprised if it's not on DVD..Every new Mustang owner should get a copy in the glovebox. It's that good.. A few weeks ago in the Mustang section of AFF I posted a couple of links to trailers/ tasters of the doco..Have a look for it...I'd be shocked if/when you see the full thing you don't like it . I'll post a link to the Smithsonian Channel promo vid for the doco in the Video thread for you now.. ... Cheers Rod..

It will be interesting to see how the export Mustang supply goes then,
will there be a period where there are no Mustangs being exported to Australia (& NZ)?

Don't forget that 'Murrica is probably the only place where you can buy a 2018 car in August 2017.
