Default NSW license plate question

Hey guys,

Just wondering about if its possible to go to an RTA and swap my yellow (standard) plates for the white/black standard plates, nothing fancy, transferring the same number/letter pattern. The white would just go better wth the car, and I dont have the cash yet to get custom plates. Any idea of the fees, or if its even an option? Thanks.

I hate stating the bleeding obvious but have you tried the RTA's site?

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registrati...pricelist.html

and from there they'll send you to.....

...and they're not license plates, they're number plates.

You've watched too much American television and your brain has atrophied.

I just went having a look around there, remind me to never move to NSW, I wouldn't be able to have my 7-character plate if I did!

Is that like "they are not bans, they are warnings"?

Keep it on topic and not personal.

Did nobody get the point because of that minor issue? Should I call them 'number and letter plates', because saying just 'number' might confuse people? Considering the content is both numeric and alphabetical. No, everyone got the point. No need to be so touchy. And if you only watch Australian television, I feel for you.

Also, regarding the link to the RTA website, it didnt help. As it didnt have much info on changing from standard pate to another standard plate. Regardless, I went in to my RTA the other day, and it turns out it will cost me $99 just to get a new random set of white/black plates. Seems a bit tight for a piece of flimsy metal, but thats the RTA for you. 90% profit on a standard issue plate.

Punctuation is the difference between "I helped my Uncle Jack , off a horse" and "I helped my uncle jack off a horse"!

Now that we've all had our 2 seconds of fun, time to move on.
The OP asked a simple question(perhaps testing the water to see what sort of helpful membership we have here) and his question is taken way off tangent like this???
Time to move on..
