Default BF body kit on EF, yes or no?

Well guys, I was thinking of putting a BF Typhoon body kit on my EF. I can get the front bar straight away, and side skirts and rear bar are still in development stage, but not far away.

I also thought of changing the plates if I get the kit to EF2BF.

Should I do it, or should I keep the existing kit and just get a bonnet bulge?

Cheers,
Bud

Cheers Chris

it looks better than i thought it would, would be interesting to see how it looked painted.
not normally a fan of new kits on old cars, i rember in the late 90's seeing a vt clubby kit on vc - vk's & it looked absolute f'n terrible.

this kit has had alot more design work put in to it so it looks reasonable, unless i saw a complete car & kit painted i wouldn't like to say yes or no, is has potential to look good

there was a guy at peter warren afd this year with a ba xr8 front bar grafted onto an ef : :
probably not the best place to debut a half done job.

yours is done alot better though, it'd be good to see the painted version

I am sorry dude, but.... do you REALLY want to be laughed off the road by fellow Ford owners, especially BF F6 owners????

It's just as bad as those VK's getting around with VZ clubsport kits, that clearly aren't destined to be fitted to the older model, given none of the lines flow properly.
All that is not to say the F6 kit would not flow nicely on your EL, I am sure it probably wouldn't look too bad given the el's softer lines, but really..... you have to draw a line somewhere with this sort of stuff in my opinion.

In general, I too am against putting newer model body kits on older cars, I just thought of doing something different. It was just an idea. Instead of getting the kit, I reckon the better look would be to get the BA bulge and remove the boot wing .

The front bar works but I reckon I would leave the side skirts and rear bar. Lose the wing get a nice boot lip, add EL XR6 vents and should be a nice bit of gear.

By the way, my panel beater and I are experimenting with the grille, will see how that pans out. At the moment, I'm driving around without the grille.

Also I thought about fitting dual exhaust with quad tips. In that case I have two options: remove the petrol tank and run straight gas, or find someone to make a smaller petrol tank that would fit in a spare wheel well. Anyone knows any place in Melbourne that makes that sort of stuff?

Cheers,
Bud

I don't belong here, lol... BUT. I reckon it'd maybe look better on an XR, with the twin lights. Suit the fog lamps etc more at least.

Don't do it Bud. The lines don't match the EF front end.
The XR kit you have is heaps better than the BF front bar.

It is something very different though, and once its painted properly should look the goods with the 19's you have on.
It may just work out!

I HATE new-er bodykits kits on older cars (especially VT-X-Y Clubby kits on VS-VN)

BUT I think the Phoon kit and a bulge would look great on an EF-L. If I still had my EF Ghia Id go the Phoon kit in a heartbeat. The bumper looks crook in the pics you posted because its in grey primer, fully painted with dark grey accents and proper mesh and it will look the goods.

Hey Bud, I personally dont like the bumper, but its your car mate and if your happy with it , thats all that matters. As for exhaust places , all I can suggest is DONT go to St Albans Exhaust.
