My first outing with the club was to Winton a couple of years ago. Was a fantastic day. And that was my first glimpse of Ron's chick magnet, the ORSMT5. You took Chris for blast, remember Ron? I would love to go this time too, but I'm unsure of work. We are getting very busy again. See how we go.

Would love to go as I've never been to Winton before. Have to rearrange annual leave as my holiday starts a week after Winton.

Would you guys stay the weekend up there, or just one night?

The only downside I recall to the Winton cruise, is the last 1km or so. Dirt road. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

the dirt road is only once you get to the premises & is usually moving at a slow pace due to the number of cars, if you get there early enough go through the top entrance it's tared.
unless it's been raining it will only be dust to put up with

I am trying to think where the dirt road is.

if you mean the road up past the cemetery, that road was sealed before last years event, well to the entrance anyway, not to the campground.

Bathurst 2001 was a bucket load worse than that, people were buried down to their axles, a guy in a 4x4 was making a fortune, charging $20 to pull people out.

I have seen the Sandown carpark similar as well.

And this is drought time so don't complain about the water - LOL

Well it wasn't that bad after all. The paddock grass was nice and thick due to the rains, but I still opted to go the Toyota just in case.
It was so bloody cccold but we were still lucky to have the showers miss us throughout the day. All in all great day out and excellent win for the Ford boys.
