Been using 98RON but havn't found the economy or performance to be any better, so I'm going back to 95RON for a while I think. Got 5,000km on the car now :-)

Will the Thailand models be tuned to run on 91 unleaded rather than the higher octane required of the European motors?

My wife drives the car mostly and she says I drive like an old man. With her driving we are getting 8.5 -9 ltrs /100 klm. on 95 RON . If some one out there is using 91RON and getting the same economy and no pinging on acceleration then I might switch to 91RON when the fuel prices rise again.

Great write up,
Is there any Diesel owner's here of the Titanium that are getting near what Ford record for fuel consumption, they state 6.9L/100 for town and 4.5L/100 on the hwy ?.
Anyone come near these fiqures ?.

The Ford figures are usually a bit understated for normal driving I always seem to use about 1 litre per 100Klm more than they say on the official figures But does also require the diesel to be run in a bit as they can be thirstier until 3-5000 klm

Almost at 15000KM @ 6.73L/100
Best tank on Hwy was 6.09L/100
Around town it's now about 6.30L/100

I dont think if you travel at 110kph on hwy it will do better than 6L/100

Hi Mate, I recently bought a TDCI 2011 Focus a couple months ago. Its got just over 2,700 kms on the clock. I reckon Ford are quite correct, I'm getting very close to those figures on my driving. I've had about 4.7/ 100 on the hwy on a long drive. I get anywhere between 750 and 800 kms per tank. Its extremely economical and goes hard.

Wow, that car of yours Nichol looks really nice. How's your experience with the park assist and adaptive cruise control?

This is definitely a car I'm interested in..

I have never timed it, buy I used to have an fg xr6 egas ute and the focus accelerates alot quicker and smoother than that. It kicks its *** in my opinion so that cant be too bad for a TDCI.

Thanks mate. I don't really use the park assist, but when i need to use it, it works perfectly for me. As for the adaptive cruise control, it's one of my favourite features of the car. On the driver's screen, it'll even show up once it can detect a car in front - so you can just change lanes rather than having the car slow down, etc.

Ohhh yeah, I see it, is the original mirror a good size still, or does the blind spot side take up to much space?

I came from a falcon and didn't find the focus mirror too small. Blind spot section is super handy though! Works really well.

So how does the blind spot section work is it a concaved mirror crafted into the mirror lense, that alloows you to see object's in the blind spot ?.

Similar to putting on one of those concave little mirrors from Autobarn etc ?.

It's just the edge (about 2cm of it) that is more concave than the rest of the mirror so it gives you a wider angle. Normal wide angled (convex) mirrors also give you a a good view but the vehicles you see are closer than they appear. So by having just the edge more concave, the depth of field is more accurate.

Soo I was happy that I finished work for the day, walking to my car....and i see this. :(

No note left or anything. Tail lights still work fine, except for the fog lamp (but I don't need to use that anyway). Sensors have been tested and still work fine. This is what happens what you work in western sydney. :/
Anyone know of a really good smash repairers in Sydney?

Looks like the light cover is broken. Do you need to buy the whole unit or can you buy just the cover.

Walked out to my car a few times to find that sort of damage... guts you. (in Western Sydney as well!)

Also, consumption was mentioned previously in this thread. I got 4.4L per 100 two weeks ago and to get that economy you need to sit it on 2000rpm / 100km/h.

That was with roof racks, a passenger and a boot full of luggage, as well as included some stop start driving. Had I clicked the reset button on the freeway, not from home it may even have got down to 4.3. Without the roof racks? Who knows??

To get that economy you need to drive it to the conditions, generally using the gears manually if you have the auto.

The same trip back, my wife did most of the driving. Was in D and she got 4.6L per 100.

Can't complain! Oh, it was in a LV and each 'trip' was over 800+km.
