I have noticed over the last 12 months that the forum has become more restrictive in terms of content, language and general "feel".
I can understand this as it is a public forum and we are judged by what the world can see. There are times however where a more "positive discussion" could take place if it were away from prying eyes. Our buddies at ls1.com.au have what they call Area 51 which is restricted to validated members only. This is not an elite club rather the member has fronted up to the appropriate admins/mods/whatever and proved that they exist and are not a banned member under another name or a anti car nutter or even a pro car nutter or a "12 year old 11 second GT owner". The restrictions on language can at times be quite annoying as it precludes denoting a point as it would be in the real world. This is Australia and we all speak "stroin", well most of us anyway. If someone has a problem there can be an amount of fear of litigation etc if they make public statements which would be reduced in a restricted area. Any thoughts on this? |
