Grechie, your garage looks very cool. It will be a great picture to look at many years down the track, a time when Australia built great cars.

Went and saw Craig again, did a great deal on a FGX XR8 Auto for my brother, plus the 1.9% finance package you cant go wrong.

Wanted to wait for sprint but the price we got this for with the finance package was too hard to give up.

I know I always give him a plug but he is great to deal with and goes the extra mile with trying to get you the best price and even taking my calls after hours!!

Poor Quality of pic below. Dec 2015 Build, Smoke XR8 ZF Auto, motor built by DD. Hopefully picks it up on Sunday..

Now Craig where is that UTE!!! Ford hurry up and build the thing!!

Hey guys i couldnt start a new thread and couldnt find any old ones, ive ordered a xr8 sprint but was thinking of going the manual instead of the auto, but i read in an article fgx xr8 has launch control in the auto is this true? If so might stick to an auto because i loved the launch control in the jeep srt. Thankss

Hey All

Has anyone put a seat cover on there drivers seat ?

Im having trouble finding a seat cover to suit the seat as none are suitable for a seat with an air bag.

Can anyone tell me where to get one ?

Thanks

My Apologies
After ringing a different dealer they tell me it does cover the entire seat.
Got to love it that all ford dealers no the products that they are selling.

Yes, you can get seat covers that do cover the entire seat, but are suitable for seats with airbags built in. These have specially designed side pockets, which are designed to split open when an seat airbag goes off.

However, if you put a standard seat cover on a seat with airbag, who knows where the airbag will push if it goes off, and does not have the release path for that air bag deployment.... .?

Fords seat cover does not cover the entire seat, Just went to buy one.

Surely someone has put a seat cover on that covers the entire seat and is suitable for airbags ??????

Most Auto stores have seat covers that allow for airbag. I know Autobarn definately does.

I put a set of the Ford covers on mine last week which were thrown into the deal but on back order a long time. Easy to fit and they cover enough of the seat IMO. The head rest covers that come with however look terrible when fitted so left them off.

Driving along pacific highway into Newcastle today, all windows down, bimodal off-enjoying the sound, when I hear a fantastic exotic sound in traffic other side, and think jeez that sounds special and a high tech v8, and look to see what exotic machine it was and lo and behold see a FGX XR8 in smoke cutting up the traffic as well on the other side and really hoofing it.....looked real good at speed with that bark and whine..

Sounded great on the outside listening to an FGX XR8 being given a real boot- and actually much nicer than you would think from the sound inside your own car from the drivers seat.

Do not know what the Novacastrian commuters thought, Smoke FGX XR8s doing what they were designed to do both sides of the Pacific Highway at the very same time-the sounds and velocity of these things is something when viewed and heard from the outside under full WOT load- I suspect given the visceral sounds of these things and the positive thumbs up I get I suspect in many years these cars will go down as cult classic...

Got a confirmed allocation last night of a 2016 XR8 Sprint.
Silhouette manual.
In writing.

Had been arranged "in case", subject to me selling my XR8....
......Silhouette manual.
March '15, delivery April '15. Pristine. 4045km.
Stock bar KPM breather filters.
Ceramic Pro inc glass, interior & wheels and nano-tint pre-delivery new.
FSH and had oil and filter before the "complementary" 3000km check.
Mixed emotions as I love my car but really wanted 6/4s and the last car.
I can't afford both.

Anyone chasing an as-new Silhouette manual XR8? PM me.
Dealer says may have interested parties with him talking possibly getting me back $"RRP+ORC" (manuals apparently rare) so I may have to bite bullet now.
I am in Perth.

We will keep talking about these for years. Falcons are why most of us are here.

Here's one, but only because the owner has scored a manual Sprint.

I still want one... but looks wise... almost think I prefer the regular XR8....

Yeah I feel the same way, not a fan of stripes unless they are a 69 or 70 ford , and the rear spoiler is in fact exactly that a spoiler for me.
