Yeh we better keep it fair only club members cars that are in running order, if you want to count spare motors and incomplete cars you would need to put me down for another 11 V8s, that would be 16 all up just for me

One thing to remember is that the majority of parts in our V8s are 30 + years old and with a hand full of after market parts hold there own against the new technology, Not to mention hold together better, fingers crossed

Steady up boys, we do not want to have to lock this thread. More like the club will have to arrange a quarter mile day sometime. The boys in the GT club in Sydney have track days, i will contact them to see if they have a day at Eastern Creek coming up, so we can join in with them, and then all the bullcrap stops and then we see who is just wafting bull dust around. And going by the clubs new constitution...........we do not want to have to be organizing special meetings to repremand members on their driving habits on club runs.

I posted in the GT club forum asking them if they were organizing a track day at Eastern Creek (WSID) as they have already had a couple, and this was their quick reply.

Re: Track Day

Postby POLAR on Wed Jan 13, 2010 6:23 pm
We have talked about a track day in the past, would need to hold it when it gets a little cooler in the year, whether or not this year or next...not sure.

See who is interested within the MNCFOC and get some numbers Gordon.

I'm sure we can get a track day happening

Well guys, i would be in on something like this, if they organize the strip for the day and we organize accomodation for a night or 2 in Sydney........WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED ?? ONLY 100% replys only !!!!!! Some of the boys in the GT club have some stout V8's and a few from our club, this could be a time to put your words into actions !

WOW...this thread went suddenly quiet when a real challenge got offered. The offer will still stand as the GT club will be organizing a quarter mile day at Eastern Creek. The GT club also have a track day at Wakefield park soon, hopefully i will be going to that one, and all our members would be welcome to come along as long as you nominate that you are comming before the event. I will post the Wakefiled day up when i get more details.

Electrical problem most likely, piston came out and knocked the alternator off its bracket.
