I still have the XC, its about to get pulled down.
My scrape in the car park(damn 4WDer's) has thrust that forward.

So yes... I need to hustle to have the XC ready for the All Ford Day.
Im thinking of getting a billet grill made as the current one is cracking from age.

The AU will be getting things done here and there till then.
A tint first for sure, no tint is a killer....

I may be interested in getting the same. I'm putting my 1991 Mercedes Benz 300E 2.6 on the market for $12K and after getting something cheaper but nice like an AUII Fairmont Ghia. Plus after selling the Mercedes I have would have some extra money to put into my BA Wagon & of course my family.

Was wondering on opinions whether the new choice of car is worth to drive & keep. Have never been in or driven an AU before. Can't afford another BA yet. Love my Fords too much rather than buy any other car.

There's plenty around, be patient and wait for a good one.

We looked through about 10-15 before we found ours.

The rest were either good on the outside and SH17 on the inside or vice versa...
We nearly gave up for a while... All good things come in time

have now bought a AUII Fairmont Ghia in gold colour, very well kept. Only issue is the km is about 220,000 which I managed to close the lowest deal at $6500. which i think its fair enough and worth it considering its in great condition. My wife will mostly drive the AU and I drive the BA.

Ouch

The one we got, we only paid another $2000 more and half the kms.
I think we might have got a steal in comparison, Although we did alot of searching around...

D'oh

Houston, We have a problem.

The exhaust fell off...

Yesturday morning i noticed the tail pipe had dropped since id got home a few hours earlier.
The we went parts hunting for the XC yesturday morning and on the way home it got louder and louder, then BANG it was gawwwwn. It broke away from just behind the diff. Luckily no one behind me collected it before i could pick it up

It had a lot of rust in it, so i got it booked in the muffler shop where i got the XC done.

Any suggestions on size n stuff for a new cat back system ?

Go with the 2.5" system, but don't get the straight through one as they are droney arond the 1800 to 2500 revs, where you do most of your driving.I had the straight through system on my AU fairmont and it lasted 3 days before I took it of and replaced it.No difference in performance, but a lot better to drive.

I'd go with this suggestion.

Mine is pretty much straight through ... but I like loud ... but yes it can get droney and the wife doesn't like it too much ... me on the other hand ... music to my ears.

You on night shift at the moment as well ... gotta love double points through the road work zone on Windsor Rd .... grrrrr.

I got my redline panel filter (same as K&N) for $80 through my mechanic ... and now the XR6T snorkel is the same as the old Tickford XR8 ones ... about $35 from Ford.

I know what the AU sounds like with extractors and no exhaust ... very burbly ... no power ... LOL

I live on no sleep ... at least this holiday weekend I am working a fair bit ... and have some overtime coming up as well ... I got things to pay off at the moment.

What's getting done to Barney????
