Was in the local LEGO store today as my 16yo purchased the Titanic and the Space Shuttle. I was browsing the shelves and there were some tempting sets there.

Not much been said about this, what looks to be a flagship set. My wallet is getting nervous in anticipation
Although not a lot of parts for the monies

It will probably be a Liebherr LR 13000, which in real life is the most powerful crawler crane in the world with a load capacity of 3000 tons. The maximum system length of the crane is 246 m, which also makes it the largest crawler crane of all time.

Set number: 42146
Designation: [Liebherr LR 13000]
Number of parts: 2882
Release date: [01. August 2022]
Availability: LEGO
Recommended age: 18+
MSRP: $599.99
And the LEGO model will probably be just as impressive: we expect it to be at least 1.50 m tall, making it a real eye-catcher in any Technic collection. It is currently known that the number of parts should be 2882. According to our information, the crane will cost US$599.99, making it by far the most expensive Technic model and even the fifth most expensive LEGO set ever.

The discrepancy between price and part count (over 20 cents per part) can probably be explained by the use of a lot of electronic Control+ elements. Also, it's possible that LEGO used a lot of large moldings for the crane's lattice masts, driving the price up and the part count down. Unfortunately, we can't say with absolute certainty at the moment whether the impressive set will also be released in August, or whether it will be released later in the fall, like the 42131 CAT D11 Bulldozer .

So anybody that bought the LEGO McLaren F1 car will do well. LEGO has temporarily removed it from stock due to a licencing issue with Pirelli, and it will be re-released without any Pirelli stickers or insignia. It's already commanding $400 - $500 on eBay. I went for a Sunday arvo rummage at my local Westfield's and shopping centre, nothing on the shelf at any of the Myers, David Jones, K-mart, Target or Big-W. I'd happily buy 3 or 4 sets at retail if I can find them!

Flipping hate when that happens with kits when they re re released and the originals go up. Its not on my list though tbh

Bought myself the International Space Station; neat little build and makes a nice display piece. Might invest in a light kit for it sooner or later!

A guy who runs an FB group im apart of is selling his entire collection. Its a massive list, im buying another 42128

In the hope a decent MOC comes from it. I know theres a couple that require 2 of this set, or the set plus some more parts.
Id love to build it with a European style cab.
For the money i reckon its a brilliant set, even better with a few mods to tidy up the looks and minus the tacky decals on the cab.

This has honestly been my most enjoyable build to date.

Only 5 building hr's in total but i spread it out over 2 days lol, a real clever cookie the guy that designed this model.

The suspension is awesome and the details are very lifelike, not a fan of the tyres tho'

So as of yesterday, in iso cause missus has the dreaded lurgy. So time to build something, havnt built anything in months.
So my other tow truck arrived.
Patiently awaiting the instructions to build this.

I like to the tow truck its built from, but i like my trucks to resemble real trucks more than 'fake' ones if that makes sense.

So whilst still awaiting instructions for the Scania i posted above.
Im not creative at all, and my spares arent sorted so its a faff trying to find parts and theres some parts i dont have. I prefer my trucks to resemble real trucks, but its bloody hard, i admire folks that create MOC's even more now
But im trying to create a Mack superliner with what i have, its a work in progress very much.
Left is my creation, right is Lego version, with some very smol changes.

Real version, im certain below is a superliner i think.

Thought id get my creation out for some pics. I think has possibly turned a new leaf with lego for me kinda.
Cpl more tiny changes with lights and almost location proper indicators, just need to work out how to fit the Bulldog on top of the grill

Im well chuffed with how the tow truck came out, giving my very limited creativity and stack of useless parts.

Went to the Lego Discovery Centre in Chadstone today. Thought the Lego fans might like a glimpse of the creations within...

Entered into an awesome little display of Melbourne landmarks made in Lego... And that's where it ended.

Couple of other smaller builds throughout the place.

Personally, extremely disappointed. If you had plans to go there, don't unless you have toddlers to entertain. Place is very small and everything overpriced. I was expecting/hoping to see the big builds like I used to see at the travelling Lego shows of old, like the ones that used to setup in Myer in Bourke St.

Score: 2/5. 1 point for the Melbourne landmark display and 1 point for keeping my nephews entertained for a couple of hours.

As per usual, leaked pics always look rubbish so time will tell.
Also limited edition, thats just lego not being able to supply and keep the price high IMO

Built a log picker last month and finally the car transporter this week after umming and ahhing for weeks about the 2nd version of the build.

I have run out of shelf space, so once i have built the Volvo Moxy that will be it i'm afraid.

Hopefully i will get keen and get back into my plastic custom trucks... i only have 32 car and truck kits sitting idly by in the closet ...

Well after all the curry i gave it, and still dont 'really' like it.

I jumped onto the Lego website and purchased one. I was really thinking it'd be sold out. I managed to get one, i guess its only early but all the stuffs i seen on various Lego Facetwit groups. It was going to be popular and sell out quick.
For me these big cars are more about the build than the finished product. Even if this one isnt the best looking.

Had this thing delivered a few days ago - was my most enjoyable build so far. Not that difficult, all the linkages are relatively basic. Bit fiddly, but not like the Charger - and nothing anywhere near as complex as the Land Rover - but a lot of fun to watch coming together. Definitely recommend, looks fantastic in person. It's gigantic though so you'll need somewhere to keep it!
