I am really hoping for a full recovery from Michael.
After such an illustrious career at the top and that fight to win mentality I couldn't bare for him to go out this way. I've been following him since '92 and this is devastating news for me.

C'mon Schuey!!

I'm a bit indifferent to MS, but I was in real shock when i heard the news, and do genuinely hope he recovers from this, no one deserves this.

Folks - cool it a bit.

Must say, I was very shocked and saddened by this and the reality is his recovery may not mean he is 100% again - we have not been told this but I have no idea of such things.

A man like this would hate that. There are layers of complication, luck and miracles but the reality is scary right now. No one is now wishing him bad, just seeing it from The reality of their life as they work with people in similar situations. We all want a miracle for him, his wife and his children. That poor little boy (his son) who endured the whole horror.......... Can you imagine the state he is in?

Can we join together following the story as it unfolds with human dignity, hope and reality & compassion.

very well said and i totally agree . . i havent commented here as yet because of the sillyness responses .
now i'll comment
i'm so sad to hear this .
1 because this guy is the same age as me .
2 cause this guy was fit and very healthy
3 because he was enjoying his life
4 because he was blessed with wealth and fame .
i hate to see people like this going down , it happens all to often . i like to see people being successfull wealthy and happy , i know it can happen to anyone and happens non discriminatory. but it takes a little shine off life to see one of a very few who ever get there , to have their life in jeopardy. because the odds of the life they get is extremely slim , to see them fall like this is very sad indeed .
i hope this guy recovers and leads some kind of life from where he left off .

Here's hoping he recovers.

Once again, a motor racing great is brought to deaths door (and sometimes unfortunately beyond) doing something in their spare time which is apparently fairly "harmless" compared to what they normally do for a living.

I had the privilege to meet MS in 2004 very early morning after he won the Australian Grand Prix. He had just arrived back at his hotel, ready for bed and me and a few mates were very lucky, as he took the time to shake each of our hands, have a brief discussion and signed a couple of jumpers before retiring to bed. I became an absolute fan that day, and to hear this news is absolutely devastating. I wish him a full and speedy recovery, and all my sympathy to his family at this time. 2013 was a shocker year for losing great people, lets not start 2014 the same way, come on Schuey, you can pull through this.

I would resist calling this particular individual a journo. This is akin to naming paparazzi shooters as photographers. Individuals such as this really have no right to be considered as media reporters.

The story here should be about Michael Schumacher, and his road to recovery. Not the rights / wrongs of anyone elses actions.

Just nitpicking but someone might want to correct the title of this thread, his name is spelt incorrectly. *SCHUMACHER*

I always liked Michael's driving style, sure he did some silly things on the track but Senna was twice as crazy as him. F1 is a tough game and the motorsport puts huge demands on them to be competitive.

This doesn't make them any less of a human being but rather having the desire to win.

Senna was great man, just like Schuey is today and I truly hope he comes out of this okay.

MICHAEL Schumacher lost control of his skis after hitting a boulder and was sent flying into three other rocks, it has been claimed, as the F1 legend's wife maintains a constant vigil by his bedside.

According to the first paramedic on the scene, Schumacher hit a boulder which was concealed by snow and then struck three more rocks, the Daily Mail reports.

"We arrived within two minutes of the accident. The man lost control after hitting a rock that was lightly covered with snow," the paramedic said.

"He went into the air and he fell and hit three more rocks on the way down. There was a lot of blood around the last rock where he hit his head."

The German was apparently catapulted with such force that it broke his helmet in two.

Why don't they use those nets or the air filled barriers that they use at professional competition and put them around the rocks?

Too many rocks.

If, as they were saying, he was skiing "off piste", he was not on the regulated runs were the dangers have been minimised.

Get well Schumy

It seems that some of the recent information getting out about his condition is "not official" and "must be treated as invalid and pure speculation"....

Quote:
Michael Schumacher remained in a “critical but stable” condition in a French hospital last night, his spokeswoman said, denying claims made by a friend that he was out of danger.

The seven-time world champion’s manager said yesterday that reports his life was no longer under threat were inaccurate and that he was not yet out of the woods.

Schumacher’s friend, former F1 driver Philippe Streiff, had said on Friday that he had been told by the family doctor, Gerard Saillant, that his life was no longer in danger.

Schumacher had hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste on Sunday morning. He has been in a medically induced coma for six days since being transferred to a Grenoble hospital, where he has undergone two operations.

Sabine Kehm, his spokesman, said in a statement: “Michael’s condition remains critical but stable. We would like to clearly stress that any information regarding Michael’s health not coming from the doctors treating him or from his management must be treated as invalid and pure speculation,” Schumacher’s agent, Sabine Kehm, said in a statement......

hopefully most of that is, as the headline states, pure speculation.

18 days in a coma and counting. thats not great, but hopefully its not the end.

Agreed. Hopefully it's not true but I'm certainly getting worried that he's still in a (?non-induced) coma this long after the event. :(
