Hi I am the owner of a2013 Falcon fg2 xr6 I live in Bairnsdale in Vic Australia I bought it 2 years ago when it had 7000ks on the clock it is a ex Ford Motor Company car it now has 52000ks on it this car drives like a dream on long runs it is roomy and comfortable and returns 8.9 ltres per 100ks . , so for a 4ltre motor I cant complain , I am 77 years of age so its my toy , ( and I dont hang around) its a pity Ford closed down in Australia because this car is a pleasure to drive

G'day, Long story short but I have finally got a Ford after having mostly red all my life … AU i6 manual ute but as I believe anything less than 8 cyl is not enough I have purchased an ex cop V8 Forte as a donor so an engine swap is on the cards shortly. Cheers

Smile New member saying hello

G'day. Sold my '78 LTD to buy a boat (I know - I'm an idiot - Now I'm saving up to buy it back).
Had withdrawal symptoms so bought a 2001 Fairlane Ghia AUII 4.0 VCT.
Awesome motoring but having a few problems at only 125,000kms.

Hello all, I have a AU falcon on which the cruise control steering wheel button "Set +" does not work, the "resume" & "Set -" buttons still work, the cruise can still be activated by pressing the "Set -" button.
I think it is the buttons, if so how do I get to the buttons to replace them - eg how do I get the air bag/horn off without blowing the bag.

Hi. I just joined the forum. Some great technical info here. I need this as my brother has a 2005 F6 Typhoon which is full of Electronics and i love electronics and know a bit about it. I just sorted out his Cylinder 4 injector fault code after the second rebuild.

It turned out that there was a wiring fault which stopped the +12v to the No 4 injector so I just took it off No 5 and all good.

Keep up the good work people.

Hi all, I have an s1 5.0l Ltd, rusty, and a 4.0l s2 fairlane Gina, very good body. What is involved in fitting s1 5.0l into s2 4.0l Gaia. Which ecu is best for this conversion and how does this match up regarding electrics. Who has done this?

G’day, all, my name is Terry. I have an AU2 Fairmont 6 cylinder sedan.
It runs on petrol and lpg, I have made several mods to it, eg extractors, hi flow cat, 3” exhaust, redback resonator, progressive compression rear coils, gas shocks front and rear, large transmission cooler and rda front rotors.
I also have had the windows tinted and have fitted a reversing camera.
It now has 241,000 klms on the clock, the only real problem I have had was recently the pcv valve blocked. That took me a while to resolve!
The symptom was that it wouldn’t idle on gas, and blew engine oil out the exhaust.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for adding me to the group!

My first car was an XY Fairmont, which I fitted with a 289/TopLoader/9” in the late 80’s (it regularly ran over 140mph, so had to go when the speeding fines increased!), then an XF S-pac, and EB2 S...the latter two were “almost” stock (sort of!)... Ironically, I’m taking my son to pick up his first car this afternoon - a manual FG1 atmo XR6! That one will stay very stock - Lol

The bug bit again recently, and I bought an XE Ghia project, and now need an engine & gearbox... I was considering an FG Turbo & manual trans, but they are surprisingly dear as a package, with the added complexity of fitting an intercooler & piping. It’ll be a weekend car to enjoy, rather than being another land-speed record contender, so with the sound of a V8 still being very intoxicating, I’ve decided I want to go with a 5.6 Tickford Windsor & manual trans... but don’t know how available these are, and what $ they go for? I know 220kW 5 Litre’s are easily available, but I want that bigger, flat torque curve, without going for the weight of a Cleveland.

Any serious details, thoughts or assistance in finding a 5.6 (incl gearbox, loom & ECU) would be awesomely appreciated right now, as that’s the major task before getting the car on the road! Rather than reinventing the wheel, I’ll also be asking a lot of questions as I work through the other things that need to be done...

Thanks guys,

Mike

G'day all,
thank you for the add, my name is Dennis and own a 2005 Territory Ghia. I've had many fords over the years and found all models have their quirks but overall have been great reliable cars (easy to fix and many inter - changeable parts).
Just resolved some minor issues through the Tech Resources.

Cheers and Beers....

As this area is usually for new members to introduce themselves you my have more luck in the FG-FGX forum. https://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=350

Or the FPV F6, XR6T and G6ET forum. https://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=33
