Wow they really started trying to push ***** up hill a long time ago. The writing was on the wall that they could not compete against import compact cars.

Lucky there was 7000 dealers so it could be fixed. The easy handling meant easy crashes too.

GM identified the threat from imported cars but the Corvair was a poor response considering how much GM had at their disposal at that time. Even the conventional XK Falcon was a better option than GM's Corvair.
