Default Banned IP

Hi guys,

After a long time away from FF's I tried to log back in tonight, only to find out my IP had been banned for spamming. I rarely log in as if late, and I probably haven't sent a msg to a fellow member in years. Just wanted to know how I can unban my IP.

I'm currently living in Japan, could this have something to do with the ban? Maybe my IP looked suspicious?

FYI I'm posting this from my phone.

Thanks,
Mike

Just send a message to a moderator. Tell them you are in Japan. Happens a lot to me when I travel overseas. They sort it as soon as they get my message.

Japan must fall in the range of IP addresses that are banned. AFF doesn't work right next door in Sth Korea either.

We have a number of blocked ranges around the world where they have been used by spammers attempting to join. Some of these are in quite wide ranges but they can usually be narrowed if they cause problems.

Cheers

That's because we have very active mods and spam reporters but also because we have something like 9,000 blocked ranges and all new registrations are vetted before being activated.

Cheers

I've seen a couple of spam threads appear over the years, but they disappeared very quickly.
