Default What to wear smart casual and semi formal

Hi

Was wondering what the smart casual dress is for men for places like casinos and some restaurants both day and evening

1. Can black or dark colour jeans be worn with dressy top for evening and same in lighter colour for day

2. Instead of button shirt is turtle neck or high neck t shirt or shirt no button ok for day and evening

3. If you wear black or dark blue dress pants and blazer or jacket for night and same in lighter colours for day with a turtle or high neck or crew neck top no button ok for smart casual and semi formal if you used a bow tie

4 if you saved the shirt and tie for formal weddings and funerals and did smart casual in the above clothing is that ok

The dress rules vary from place to place so it’s best to check first. Or ask your wife!

Here’s a link to the dress rules for the Sydney Star Casino.
https://www.star.com.au/sydney/casino/dress-standard

The outfits you’ve mentioned are acceptable. These days, neat T-shirts, jeans (not torn) and shoes will get you into most restaurants and clubs. Turtle neck shirts are okay, but you might look like a bit like you’ve just come from the ski lodge or boat club.
If in doubt, ask your wife.

Could high neck or crew neck tops be used as smart casual or semi formal

Could men wear low heel or low wedge plain women boots, seen heels for men are nearly back in fashion

Dark blue and black jeans are good as long as they aren't too baggy and are not ripped or torn. Leather shoes, again clean and in good repair, match your belt to shoe colour. Shirts are where you can get a bit of colour or pattern going, but they should have a collar. If long sleeve full button you can roll up the cuffs to relax the look or a well fitting polo shirt. T-shirts can work if plain black or white and under a sports jacket.

none

get your self a pair of brown chelsea boots (rm's are chelsea boots). team them with chinos or dark blue jeans (both should be slim fit not boot cut), nice button up shirt and away you go.

just be warned... by doing so you may get annoyed at all the birds hanging off you, just ask cav

From 20 years working in various licensed establishments, you will generally be fine if you wear:
Pants or plain jeans with no holes or rips,
Preferably long sleeves on a collared shirt but polo shirts are usually fine.
Clean lace up shoes or slip on loafer, no runners, and again, no holes etc.
No thongs or hats.
Cover tattoo's is best practice imo & yes, I have a few.
If it is really upmarket, check that a jacket/tie is not mandatory.

A lot of clothes shops think it’ll be ok and target think ones in these links will be ok men and women

Another clothes shop think you should choose what your comfortable with

Apologies car10002, I assumed you were looking for men’s clothes. I can’t offer any advice on women’s clothes. I could always take my own advice and ask my wife on your behalf.

Where are you going?

That will have a lot to do with what you wear.
Semi formal can catch you out badly if you turn up in jeans.

For females, dark coloured dress. Easy peasy.

Formal/business: make sure you tuck in your shirt.

Thinking of this

Smart casual

Dark colour clean jeans or dress pants and dress shirt (turtleneck or crew neck or high neck no button shirt) no tie and dress jacket or leather jacket

Semi formal

Turtleneck or crew neck or high neck or v neck shirt no button or concealed button, dress pants, bow tie and dress jacket

Then save the button shirt and tie for funerals and very formal weddings

Will that clothing setup be a problem for smart casual and semi formal place

Neck tie not bow tie.

For me, button shirt (nothing special, just from Lowe's) and black pants. Laceless shoes and a tie if the occasion calls for something a bit more. I have tattooed hands/knuckles I can't cover so really can't be anymore presentable. Turtlenecks are just a no from me. Make sure your hair is cut. Use a bit of gel/clay whatever.
