Default EOMM Wrap Up: October 2015

October is a great month on the Australian calendar; the weather is warming up, leaves are growing back on the trees and to top it off it marks the beginning of daylight savings. All of these things combine to make ideal conditions for a great meet and they did just that last Thursday for the JDMST EOMM at Sydney Dragway.

With the sun shining all day and no sign of storm clouds closing in for the evening cars were arriving to the meet EARLY to secure a prime spot and enjoy the afternoon sun we were being so graciously treated to. Though it was only a matter of time before the flood gates opened and a constant stream of modified cars were rolling through the S bend and into the paddock, finding a free spot to claim for the evening.

Naturally the foot traffic also grew and by 7pm the meet was in full swing, traders chatting away and the sound of shutters clicking furiously as budding photographers we’re overwhelmed by the immense quality of cars in attendance.

It certainly seems like the wide body is here to stay, after a long period of pushing the limits with wheel fitment on standard bodies, the number of Japanese companies producing wide body kits has flared out of control and this trend has cemented itself on Australian shores.

Though amongst the sea of Japanese metal were also a number of other gems, from American cruisers to Radical race cars the diversity of vehicles at any EOMM never ceases to amaze us. If you haven’t heard/seen these radical cars in action, what they can do on a racetrack is mind bending; light weight and oodles of grip making for a Radical machine.

In addition to the usual display, the Rocket team had their transporter and some awesome cars in tote; giving us a taste of what’s going to be in action at the triple challenge end of year festival this December.

EOMM is held on the last Thursday of every month at Sydney Dragway, Gates open at 6pm and the night runs until 9pm, check out the EOMM Facebook for more info on upcoming events.
Next month’s meet is Thursday 26th of November 2015, See you there!
