Default 2013 Ford Mondeo

Great the start of information filtering through for the new shape question is,is the MC the final model in the current generation or will there be an upgrade till 2013

I reckon there will be one more as Australia is always last to get everything.

Interesting article, particularly with that big Holden Stock Clearance advert in the middle.
Gotta laugh .........ho hoh ho ho
My bet is Sep release next year for Mk5 shape, no update from MC to MD / ME (cute!!) / MF / MG (licensing problem?)

Point is what can they put into a upgrade model that the MC Titanium hasn't already got! The diesel engine could be upgraded to the 2.2L,sat nav added, new dash console not much I can think of ?

I understand the new model has been engineered in Detroit - I hope they don't stuff it up!

Ford Europe usually do one facelift (MC) between models. There is no equivalent of the MB in Europe.

Nice, the Fusion is very outdated now compared to the rest of the range. It's a shame Ford isn't going to use the same name world-wide for its global branding.

That's the Fusion, not the Mondeo.

In Europe and Australia, it will continue to wear the Mondeo badge, while the US market will welcome it as the new Fusion.

2013 Ford Fusion debuts along with 47-MPG Fusion Hybrid, 100-MPGe Fusion Energi

Hybrid

Energi (Plug-in Hybrid)

Quote:
The standard Fusion – available in S, SE and Titanium trims – will be available with three engines. The base mill is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with 170 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. We're sure it's a fine powerplant, but our interest is more settled on the next two: a 1.6-liter EcoBoost four with 179 hp and 172 lb-ft, and the range-topping 2.0-liter EcoBoost four with 237 hp and 250 lb-ft. Both engines can be had with the same six-speed automatic, though the smaller 1.6-liter engine can be mated to a six-speed manual box. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board, but top-of-the-line Fusions with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine can be had with all-wheel drive.

*The Mondeo name will be used in markets outside North America

Looks like a good upgrade from my current Mondeo XR5. I'll take mine in white.

Want me to tell you what Ford has in mind for us here....... god only help us lets hope we are given choices of models not just a cut down version of the European model I will resist the temptation to get into a BMW 3 Series nothing to lose as my MA is going really well may as well wait

My MA is going well too. Almost 3 years of ownership, and its been pretty good. Just ticked over to 32,000 on the clock.

I hope its not a cut down version as well. Would be nice to have all the bells and whistles.

I'll stick with the Mondeo. BMW's are nice, but they do nothing for me.

Just downloaded the Mondeo brochure from the UK website on the current mondeo and the rims on this are currently an option and are 19" rims.

Looks great - including the interior. Very integrated flowing lines with finish level 'based on the Audi A6'. Very nice - shame we have to wait a year to get hold of one.

2.0-liter EcoBoost four with 237 hp and 250 lb-ft.
237bhp = 174 kw
....which is only 9 more than my XR5 @165 (IIRC)
and torque is less as well XR5=300Nm (IIRC)
But AWD certainly sounds interesting !!!

not to mention a front fascia that's decidedly Aston Martin-esque in approach,
....Agreed, Ok then...um, we won't mention it

And now we just need FordOz to bring in a decent colour range.

250ft-lb is approx 339Nm. The 2.0 EcoBoost makes more power and torque across a wider rev range and should use a lot less fuel too, compared to the old 5T.
