Default 20th April WSID drag day

After talking with a few people on MSN I have decided to hold a WSID drag day on April 20th. It should be a great night out for everyone and will allow you to strech you cars legs in a fun legal way.

If you plan on racing you need to bring along your drivers licence, Long sleeve shirt, pants, closed shoes, helmet and the car rego papers.

Gates open at 5pm and racing starts 6pm. Ill get there about 5pm so I can get eveything sorted out(they check over the car and issue arm bands). Cost for a racer is $45 and Spectator $15.

Racing:
Pieoter (Fiesta)

Spectation:
Mista Fiesta

Yeah, I might bring the Focus down and drag it - Fiesta vs Focus. I'll have to make sure I can get the day off work, otherwise I am keen. I just love drags!!!

I'd love to bring the RS2000 but she is under rebuild atm.

Oh, also, everyone should know:

You car must pass scrutineering, that means no loose objects in the car or boot - in the event of a rollover. Also means no oil leaks, shouldnt be a problem for us, but save embarassment and check before you go.

Also, you need a long shirt, long pants, covered shoes, and a helmet.

Just for those who have never been before.

all I found they were concerned about when I took the Lynx was that the battery was secure hardly checked anything else and wrote numbers on the windscreen

other then that it is Awesome fun, the first run is so nerve racking after that you just want to keep going again and again

I did 190km/h in the Lynx legally lol

Nice work!

I can't actually come on the 20th due to work, which sucks alot, one of the only weeks on night shift! I am still a million percent keen though, another time soon, hopefully.

Pieoter,

Did you end up going to W.S.I.D.? If so, give a run-down (sic) of what happened and what was your time?

I got lost just after entering sydney near campbelltown. I had to have a quick exit from the highway after after taking a few random turns I was more than a little lost.

Im disappointed as I had my car ready in full drag trim and it was alot quick than usual.

I'll be trying to go back again sooner rather than later.

Teki04,

Glad to hear the high 17's are right on. How many kilometres are on the clock, in general. i.e. will you get a better time as the engine gets a few kays on it?

Mine is almost 12000km....and yea the engine does start to rev more.... like it isnt as breathless and unwilling..... but then again the duratec was never that bad to begin with. Only a small change is noticeable... plus the gears get WAY better...

depends how the car has been run in intially

at work we have 2 identical pulsars auto's one is the salesman's drive car and the other is a customer courtesy car. Both have roughly the same kms on them and were both bought at the same time

the salesman's car is quicker, its more willing to rev kicks back gears easier etc.

I would be assuming the ones the journo's use will be well and truly run in with the way all of them (drive it like you stole it practice)
