Default Blue power Air Box and tune results.

I was totally amazed on Friday when I took my BF XR8 6speed auto to Chris for a tune. Chris dyno'd the car and 206 rwkw's was standard with just headers and cats fitted.

Chris put his generic tune in and instantly 217 rwkw's. Abit of a surprise to me.

Then he went to work on a custome tune which resulted in 226 rwkw's. How cool...... At this stage I asked him about the air box a few of the boys have that he makes. Chris (MYV8) and Wade (Lowride260) Rave about the awesome sound these things make.
So Chris put it on for me to GIVE IT A GO and see the results.

To my amazement 229 rwkw's came up on the 1st run, with Hp gains right across the range. (interesting) Then he set about tunig the car to the airbox and the final 235 rwkw's.

So the gain of 9 rwkw's though a small mod like the Bluepower Air Box is Outstanding to me.

So the custom tune and air box picked up 29 rwkws. :eclipsee_

The part I love is the ROAR that the intake now makes is totally awesome :evil_laug
I took it to the track on sat and only did 2 full passes in auto mode. Stock was 14.0 down to 13.41 turning the tyres. I am sure with decent rubber a 12second pass is very possible and on the next outing with only these modes. What a amazing gain for the cost of these modes. :

I would 100% recommened a Custom Tune and Air box from Chris at Blue Power Racing Developments!!!!!!! Definatly money well spent...

Thanks Chris, I Love the car now. :

I have to say, I'm still impressed with the gains Chris has achieved with the standard airbox in my car.
I can only imagine what extra gains we might get using a Blue Power air box.

As for the tuning, Chris I am still amazed how docile my car is in daily driving and yet it will chirp the tyres hard now under a full throttle upchange.

Exactly what the Doctor ordered! :dr_Evil:

But when will the airboxes arrive?
I know, Chris, this week ;-)
But when your in NZ there's a great deal of hoopla to get them onto the car.
And I need more power.

Well last night I went to WSID and run 13.0 @ 104.5 mph on Dunlop sp3000 turning the tyres for HALF the track!!!!!!!!!

This is a UNBELIEVABLE gain for the dollars outlaid. The car Will run a easy 12 with MT Et street radials. Have to wait for Rocket to get them in unfortunatly.

Chris you are the man when it comes to tuning these FORDS and getting them down the track FAST.

Was down at Cooper Street yesterday, watched a very nice BF Super Pursuit, 6 speed auto, have one of Chris's airbox fitted. First run after fitting, extra 12rwkw, then with tinkering of tune, total of extra 20rwkw. Not bad at all!! The beast with airbox, exhaust and tune now has 259.5rwkw. Had me drooling, but the stock BF Typhoon, 6 speed auto, fully optioned in Bionic that rocked up later and gained 60rwkw with tune only was my dream car

Any idea on the time frame for the AU CAI.
Wouldn't the BA one fit on my car ? The BA XR8 and GT use the same pod filter as my car.

Hey Goran,

we are still tinkering with the design - the AU box is critical, especially since the MAF is involved - it has to be 100% right before we make a move. I will call you personally when they are ready.

Another trip out to WSID last night, 5 runs
Traction is crap at night in winter.

best 2 were
13.065 @ 107.00 mph 1.953 60'
13.087 @ 105.66 mph 1.958 60'

Time for the blower Chris! :

mph and 60's are quite good. You'll just have to hold your tongue on the right angle to run that 12 Good work and keep at it.
