After last time I don't blame you for getting a pit crew. Hopfully you won't need him for anything drastic. How good of a mate is he or did'nt you tell what happened before.

Intermediate sounds like me. Will not be needing brown paper bag takes a lot more than defeat to bruise my pride & ego. That is if 6's were to loose of cause.
Heath. I will be leaving fron the Goldy also. If you like you can hook up with me, for the drive out to Warick.

Default Itchin to go

So how are we going for numbers of 6's to 8's will it be an even playing field or not? :jab:
Since I have not been before though I'd ask a few.
What was the best time around track last club meeting?
How long is the track? (The last few posts of layout/sign seems to be out of date.)
So how come there was no winner last time?
I have been told it is very hard on brakes. Did anyone have trouble with standard set up last time?
Guess thats it for now.
Look forward to your replies.
See Ya.

Heath.

It does not matter with the numbersor 6's or 8s, as the laps time are averaged across for the amount of car that are there...

best time is held by Greg (Lion Tamer) XR6T 1:17

The track would be about 4km at a guess.... Yes the photos are out of date...

The were winners last time....

1st... Don turner....... GTP
2nd...Greg................XR6T
3rd....Jabba..............XR8

The track is very had on brakes. get some upgrade rotors and pad if you plan to go hard. Those that had the standard rotors and pads suffered Fad out big time

I was going hard (not like jabba or the don) but my poor standard E series single piston brakes held up quite well. I used my gears a bit but Im going out there this time with glazed rotors! yay!

Bring your warm clothes to Warwick!
Forecasts :- Sat. sunny, winds SSW 15kph, temps 8 - 17
Sun. cloudy, winds ESE 10kph, temps 8 - 20

Those temps will give Jabba an excuse to smoke up the tyres to bring them up to optimum operating temperatures.

All depending on the delivery date of the XR8 I may or may not be able to make it. If the car arrives we'll be running it in over the weekend, if it doesn't arrive in time I'll be there to take some pics.

Win win option in my books...

Cheers

How about running your car in while driving it out to Warrick and spend the day getting to know the people in the club.... And while your there you can pick our brains ( but don't pick to hard, theres not much left) to see what gets the XR8 going hard. A few of our club sponsors will also be there Herrods and Mal Wood. Both I give 11 out of 10 for the quality of there work. You can if you don't want to run it hard , do the Tame at heart session. Then at least you will get a good idea about the potential for the XR.

Sounds like a nice cool day for racing, the brakes and tyres will last longer, our engines wont get as hot and the turbo's are going to love it more so.

mmm, tyre smoke..... It might be on the cards, I wont promise anything tho :evil3: ...

If it was just me I'd do that in a flash, but will have my wife and 9mo son with me as well (my work car but it's replacing her car) and she'll not want to be out there for a significant period of time... All depends on whether the car is ready to be picked up by Friday, if it's not I'll be out in my little pocket rocket and get to meet you all

As to the modifications, after all the work done to my current car nothing is allowed to be done to the XR. But I am sticking to my guns for at least an exhaust system. I doubt I'll get an edit done at any stage, as much as I'd like to.

Default For all the Guys and Gals from the Gold Coast.

For all the Guys and Gals from the Gold Coast.

I have discussed with Ken about a group of us leaving from the Coast and meeting the rest of the club members at Morgan Park.. Good idea were the words from Ken...

So these are the plans...

We will all meet at Movie world car park at 7:00 am Saturday 22nd. We will be leaving at 7:30 Sharp... If you are wondering why we are leaving earlier then the Redbank crew, It is because it takes longer to get to Warwick leaving from the Gold Coast then Redbank... We will also be making 2 stops on the way out to Morgan Park. 1st Macca's at Beaudesert, 2nd a service station in Warwick to adjust tyre pressure for the track.. Providing we get a good run, we should be at Morgan Park at 10:30 am and if we get there earlier, It will be bonus time to prepare ourselves, car and inspect the track (on our feet, not in the car) for any debris or nasties

please drop me a PM if you intend leave from Movie world

Thanks Matt for getting that unruly mob from the Gold Coast organised, we will see you there.

For the Brisbane and surrounds people remember we are meeting at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am (sharp) departure. I want to get there as early as possible so all of the Admin can be well and truly out of the way and we can be ready to go on the track at the appointed time.

See you all Saturday morning.

Cheers,

Ken

Sounds great guys. Just one question

How many kms is it from the leaving point to MP.

Estimates are fine.

Both from the Movie world and Brisbane starting points?

Those young people ask the strangest things! Drew from the Brisbane starting point to Warwick is 129.70 kms and from MW to Warwick is 189.55 kms. Try this link.
