we (well the misses did) test drove the VE SV6 wagon in that voodoo blue before we bought the turbo
sexy color and shape (love that wagon) but the interior was as plain as my old BA XR8 ute
it had 34 thou on the clock and that wanted the same in price
we got the G6ET for 29000 with 54 thou on the clock and a much quicker car with a much better interior
mate at work is thinking of trading in his 2008 holden wagon for a VF calais
for the life of me i cant get him to come across to the blue oval side again

sad sad man lol
Oh god I can't understand all the love for the VF interior either. It looks like it's been melted and sagged down as a result. Horrible.

G6ET - These range from $47-$49k at present and I really like the idea of a sleeper.

Well guys, I have a feeling that it will be a G6ET. I've been busy with work and such have just started obtaining prices.

•Holden back flipped and priced the SS at $46k DA

•G6ET pricing thanks to BossXR8 is around $44 - $46k DA

•XR6T - with a luxury pack I've been offered $41K DA

All cars based on the following,

•Tinted Windows
•Tow Bar (1600kg)
•Slimline Weather Shields
•Car Mats (Front & Back)
•Full Size Spare (Matching Alloy)

Side Note: Took a Territory for a spin and the kids said, "Dad get that" :-)

Cross shop dealers and screw them hard on a price for a G6ET. They must be desperate to move anything Falcon atm.

Don't believe the "you're already getting a discount" line, that discount comes out of Fords end, not the dealers, so they must have some wriggle room in their margins I would think.

Our G6ET was the best car I have ever owned. The Terry Titanium that replaced it is more practical when you load it with 3 bikes, luggage and a 3+hour trip for a quick weekend getaway but I will never forget the first time I pulled out to overtake on the highway in a dedicated overtaking lane and before I knew it I had passed 6 cars, in a few eye blinks in complete safety.. it happened to also be my birthday as I had taken delivery 2 days earlier.........Luxury, full 5 seater with killer performance in a classy body....a recipe made in heaven at a price that will never be repeated.

Yep, it was gone the morning of the day I walked ina few weeks ago to look at taking it off their hands....

They also weren't really interested in selling anything else to me except for a Fiesta/Focus or a 2102 XR6 N/A (which was the "best option for me" according to them but I'm not interested in as apart from body panels/interior being different, it's essentially what I already have now). I walked out pretty much feeling ashamed for being a "falcon buyer".

Now I've got my heart set on a white G6ET after missing out on that one.... But it seems a trip to Brisbane dealers might be the best option. Having a budget range that most demo G6ET's go for (apart from white goddammit), I can't afford to look at brand, brand new this year lol.

Congrats Struggo, they are the ultimate sleeper and pick of the non-FPV's!!

Yeap some of the dealers wouldn't have a clue..

Mate there are some bargains to be had, just make sure you have your haggle hat on..

Some people I no get embarrassed when they have to ask for a better price..

Once ya fire of the 1st one it gets easier lol

Mine is tuned now and seriously it's like an old 2 stroke moterbike to 120ks..

Good luck with ya buy dood..

I'm going against the grain by saying I'm sick of mine after 5 months. Sure the turbo rush is fun for a while as well are the neat gadgets but its all really old technology now compared to the rest of the market. I'm missing the aggressive looks and character that come with the XR series instead of the sterile looks of the G series.

My 2c only.

Whack an XR8 bonnet on, and it then looks like a GT-E.

I think its more the boring wallowy suspension tune on my FGII compared to my last FG XR6 which was much more capable around the bends.

Bilsteins and SSLs seem like the logical answer for me.

lol why would it be quicker? With all the extra kit it's heavier. If anything they're the same. I test drove the pants of a G6ET and my XRT is equally as quick. They'll all vary though, usually around the 230rwkw mark though no matter what you choose. The LSD is good in a way but can be clunky.

good on ya Struggo, i would have gone a G6ET but didn't want to climb up and into the 40K mark, but the XRT puts a big smile on my face every time i drive it. It's the only car i've owned that i can't stop thinking about going and taking it for a pointless drive every 5 minutes.

Cheers guys, I cant wait to pick her up.

In the end I picked it up for $44,600 DA has I had the following included,

•Tinted Windows
•Tow Bar (1600kg)
•Slimline Weather Shields
•Car Mats (Front & Back)
•Full Size Spare (Matching Alloy)

I know you can save on the tint elsewhere but its the convenience of picking it up and shes good to go.

Pretty sure it was quicker at one stage. They kept the smaller turbo on the G6's for some reason....hence quicker spooling and faster take off.

the engines are identical, they both use a smaller turbo than the BF range, and both do 0-100 in 4.9 to 5.1 depending on the test type.
