Default Mondeo Suspension

Gday All,

Just went away for the weekend did roughly 600kms with a full boot and 2 adults and my little one in the rear.

Must say that the noise coming from the rear suspension??? was absolutely shocking. Has anyone else noticed the same. I am really cheesed of.

Ive got to book it into Ford.

Must say that I may be the first person to say so for the car is not impressive at all.

Hard to describe. My brother said it may be the rubber bushes. Its sought of like a creeking noise and as the load is bigger its a lot more noticeable

My wife and I noticed a similar sound yesterday. Not quite a crunching, sort of in between that and creaking.

Last time it happened was when turning left onto highway from a servo which causes a little extra weight on one side of the rear suspension.

One of those things that's hard to describe - the type that service mgrs never quite believe and can never reproduce!

Ours will be going in this week for the lowered Eibach springs Nick and i'll get them to check the bushes while she is on the hoist and see what they say.

Maybe some better shocks could be the go as well. I haven't heard any noises as yet but we have only just clicked over 1500ks so now it's time to open the car up and see how it go's.

Yeah, no problems with mine and done about 6000k's. Hopefully it's just a faulty one off and not widespread. No offence to you FRIKA.

I hope I've found the solution to my noise. The dealer gave us mud flaps as part of the purchase the purchase and the left rear one wasn't screwed on so it was hanging low and scraping.

I hope that's all it was anyway. If it wasn't I'll keep you posted.

Good luck getting yours sorted out.

So, what ended up being the cause of this, and how was it resolved ?

Going uphill could have been Katoomba.

Hey FRIKA,

I had a bit of weight in the back last week (first time) and much the same sort of noise you are describing in pretty much the same situation. While I am no expert it certainly sounded like a bushing noise to me

The car is going in next week for it's 3000km check over and I was wondering how you went? Did it get sorted? What was it?

Anybody else have this?

Cheers.

I've noticed a bit of noise in the rear. Every time it goes into the dealer for a service or warranty call, I always tell them about it. they come back and say that the suspension was loose, and they tightened it up.

Not real flash.

I was told to tell the customer when I couldn't find a fault with electronic equipment that "We found a loose connection" worked 99% of the time

It's been in about three times, and I reckon they have told me that they have tightened the suspension up twice.

My drive way here is on quite the angle, so that may be why it has to go in a bit more often.

Ive noticed a lot of groaning and whining noises in the back when the car is fully loaded. Seems to stop when i tell the kids to get out.
