Default Ford Discovery Centre news

Hi all,

I have been encouraged to submit regular updates for you on the goings on at the Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong, Vic.

Just in case you have never heard of it, or didn't know, the Centre is the only interactive museum showcasing the Ford Motor Comapny in Australia. The Centre first opened in April of 1999, and we have been increasing our visitation numbers annually. Run as a not for profit charatable trust, the Centre is located on a site adjacent to where Ford first began manufacturing vehicles in this country back in 1925.

A few bits of info you might be interested in:

In May we have the Mustang Club of Australia displaying their vehicles. Always a good draw card, the Mustang club will show a selection of their members' cars.

The Ford Discovery Centre Members program is about to celebrate its first birthday next month. Now boasting over 100 members, this program offers free unlimited entry to the Centre for the duration of your Membership, discounts on Ford branded merchandise, and monthly activities of interest to Ford enthusiasts. This month (April) we are off on our annual trip to the Ford Proving Ground. Always a fun trip, and we get to have a fang around in the test mules too! (as passengers but it still ROCKS)

Another new initiative which is proving popular is the Schools Membership program. For 50 cents per enrolled student, schools can join as Members and bring along as many students as they wish for a year. This represents a significant saving off normal entry costs for schools wishing to bring a large number of students, or smaller country schools who bring most of their students in the one visit. School Memberships also include three free family passes to be used as prizes, or for fundraising.

I am happy to answer any questions you have on any of the above information, or any other question you may have about the Centre. Email is probably the best way to reach me fdcinfo@deakin.edu.au

Look forward to meeting more of you!

You didn't mention the traditional October Bathurst Display.

I'm tipping you haven't been to the FDC in October in the past 3 years.
