XB Coupes of my past

I had 3 coupes in my time.

1st one i restored as an apprentice. I replaced the door skins, sills, and drivers rear 1/4 Panel. Then I resprayed the whole car in Standox 3 layer pearl, black base blue pearl and hs clear, then flow coated it was like wet glass. I went to the nats drove it for about 6 months and I had 2 people run into me and smashed the drivers door and then another time smashed the passenger front guard. I fixed it all up and resprayed it again and sold it.

2nd was given to me by a milk bar owner who had vacant land near my house, I asked him what he wants to do with the coupe in the paddock, he said u can have it, its rubbish, lol. I pushed it around to my place with some friends, it sat in my back yard under a tree for some time. I sold it on eBay a few years ago, a Comando from SA fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan brought it. When he won it he rang me from Afghanistan and said can you hold it for me for a few weeks until I get back in Australia, I said no worries. He was going to do a MADMAX Coupe. He was full on this guy. When he landed back in OZ he rang me and said I'll be down next weekend to pick her up, I said ok, no prob. He drove down in an XB Sedan he purchased from QLD as well as an old car trailer and a navman. He turned up at my house at 10pm, I helped him load the coupe onto the car trailer. We spoke for a little while then he jumped in his car and drove all the way back to QLD with no breaks. He said he has to be back in Afghanistan on Tuesday. I'm like wtf dude....

3rd coupe I had was a rolling factory GS with a wind-back sunroof I sold a few months later. A fellow from the GT club of NSW, Dick I think his name was came to my house and inspected it on behalf of a friend who purchased it to restore his XB Coupe red pepper with black outs, also from QLD.

If that guy is reading this post let me know where your at with the build buddy ???

lol,

A member PM'd me and said 3 rusty shitboxes.

2 of them cars paid for my XR8.

2 OF THEM CARS COST ME $1000,

NOT A BAD RETURN.

Although I must say, I wish I still had them. Probably buy me 3 xr8's

We have all been there before with the old should have keep't it stories, but who would have known.
I would have liked to have seen more of your 1st coupe mate that you resprayed.

Unfortunately, I haven't got to many of the 1st one. That was rebuilt over 20 years ago, and the pics were taken on an old Kodak camera.

My coupe was named MIEVIL.

Some of the old school guys on here know who I am

I do have a few shots of an old Ford Hearse I resprayed about 5 years ago.

All these cars have been jobs done by me over the years at various panel shops throughout Sydney.

I'm also in the process of restoring an old FJ Holden. I resprayed her last week for an elderly woman named Maryanne. This car is in excellent condition. Light Blue bottom with a Dark Blue roof.

How long you got.
Coupe No. 1 I was 14,XA GS ?? never finish sold
No.2 at about 16, XA Fairmont GS 4 speed 302 summer gold. Painted black with XB front. Sold
No.3 at 18, XB GS 302 4 speed sky blue black trim etc. then swapped it for the No.2 car back again then sold it.
No.4 Mulberry XB GS Fairmont white trim 6 auto. Then fitted 351 4 speed. sold to my dad. He later sold it painted white to a friend.
No.5 at 20, XA GT Yellow glow black trim etc.
Also got back the No.2 car for parts for the GT. Later done a deal with a friend on a XY and he got the coupes.
No.6 at 20 some thing,XB John Goss (green) had 351 toploader 9in etc. sold that.
No.7 at 25,XA GT red pepper white trim 4 speed. sold that.
No.8 at 26, XB GS 351 4speed yellow. this was later raced Dirt Circuit.
No.9 at 26, XB Falcon 500 460 auto Brown, sold.
No.10 at 27 XB Fairmont GS Mulberry factory 351 4speed black trim sun roof. Still Have. Has been painted black, not me.
No.11 at 28, XC Cobra No.393. sold last year.
No.12 at about 30, XB GS white black trim 302 auto ruffy. sold bought back then resold shell.
No.13 at 30, XB Falcon 500 6 auto. fitted 351 FMX 9in painted Platinum. Sold to friend.
No.14 about 32, XA GT RPO McRobertsons Old Gold black trim. restored still have.
No.4 car again then resold.
No.15 XB GS Fairmont V8. Now its looks like XA GT Black and I use it as my race car. still have.
There was about 5 or more coupes bought and sold over the time of building the GT RPO and the race car for parts.
No.16, XA Falcon 500 red pepper factory 351 4speed. got offered good money so I let go to good home. this car was never 4 sale.
No.3 car back again, found on ebay very rusty but all there just had to have it back.

I think that's all of them. Love the coupes, so out of that lot I still have 4.

XA GT REP Black Silver tarmac race car
XB Fairmont GS fac 351 4speed Mulberry black trim. coupe painted black with XC front at the moment, not by me. I will change back one day.
XB GS 302 4speed Sky Blue black trim. needs major resto.
All coupes.

Also I missed one I had years ago and it was a XC rally pack white with cream cloth trim 6cly 4speed. sold.
