Look at the exhaust tips on the silver one. Supercharged variant perhaps? Or just HSV being HSV?....

It would be good if they could drip feed info on the new Falcon like they did with the BA back in 2002, but it might still be too early to do that just yet.

It is interesting some of the new technology being offered.

Nissan now have 298kw 560Nm N/A V8 with 7 speed auto available.
Yes it is in a shoebox but the 350Z (VQ35) engine was also once fitted to shoeboxes......

I will wait until the VF is actually released and available before making any judgements as I cannot remember the last time that the speculating media were right or really even close to being right about a new model.

Ceramic brakes on a HSV , that's just pure speculative dribble, I'll believe that when I see them.

Less outrageous styling is a good thing in my opinion as is the weight saving aluminium bonnet.

Ford should take this cue and trim some weight using aluminium (the raw material is fairly cheap at the moment) and improve the aerodynamics of the next Falcon while they're at it.

HSV's will be supercharged? With more than 375 kw? Really?

Latest words from Ford, seems like a Q3 2014 launch, and weight reduction is not their primary goal.

Is that what appears to be smaller bonnet bulges or just the lines on the bonnet?

Looks like they've relocated the front badge onto a more Holden styled grille.

"Spy shot" but they didn't go walk up to the car and take interior shots? Weird.

On the one hand I don't want Ford to rush the update and make mistakes, but on the other, Q3 2014 is an awful long time after VF's launch.

I think they have really mistimed this update.

VE ran for how long? 2006-2013

Yet the FG has been around since 2008 and some are calling for a new model.

Interesting.

You know as much as I detest the dark side the latest HSV's have grown on me. Yes there are bits it could do without by I lke the rear and its uniqueness.

Now that FPV have the driveline sorted it will be interesting to see what they do with apperance come FG3 or whatever it is, word is the XR is a good looking beast.

Lets me guess Drive have just used the Camaro ZL1 and Z28 as the basis for what the upcoming HSV's may use, ceramic brakes, s/c engine etc etc.

375kw is a LOT of power........... Not that I think it will come with that, but wow.

Spy shots of two cars strategically placed in a public carpark by the HSV enginners while they duck into Big W to get more cloth tape and black padding material. Hope the ninja spys didn't get paid too much for them LOL

I note the cars are fitted with Continental tires, and they have had a hard life! Brake hardware has earnt it's keep. Interesting they are evaluating Conti rubber, man, they will give these cars some freaken awesome grip, but say good bye to a couple grand every 12 or 15k on hard driven cars should they become OEM equipment.

375 isn't that much power, plenty of our member cars pack a heap more than that! Modern chassis handles that grunt level quite ok. It's about what the Miami in GT tune makes now anyways, so Ford can just get some new brochures made. That's if they can afford such a big marketting spend LOL.

Hmm, a more toned down clubby, with 6+ litres of supercharged grunt.... I reckon it might just sell like hotcakes.

Price will be interesting

Interesting, looks like HSV may increase the range they offer, whilst Ford cull it by dumping the F6 ute and who knows what else.

love how they start with the fastest and most powerfull aussie ever. Ill wait till it happens I think. Seriously ...ford has only to wind the wick up a tiny bit...and the new rspec being standard gear is all they need to make it very hard for the hsvs to keep up. The miamis power delivery is whats key in its speed...so whatever power levels holden wish to use will mean jack if it doesn't make flat smooth power.
really like them toning down the looks tho
