Default Researching and am stuck now

Hey all

When the Falcon and Commodore grace the big junk pile in the sky what realistically is there going to be that can replace them?

I've started on a monthly spend spreadsheet for myself so when I am able to get a car I've got a good idea of what it'll cost me per month at worst case scenario excluding servicing.

Any ideas?

Aurion or its equivalent, Liberty,Merc,Bmw,There are plenty of worthy contenders out there. Most of them will show what the word reliable really means !!

If you specifically are looking for a new car, a Chrysler 300 C would be a good choice.

I call BS! You clearly haven't read much about the quality of Merc (SA built) or Sucbas of late.

If OP means replacements in terms of big engine, 5 seater and RWD - then no, there will be nothing.

The large car market now seems to be the Mondeo, Mazda 6, Liberty etc.

I second the Chrysler 300C recommendation. Apart from European models, which would cost a fortune in the four-door full-size category, the 300C seems to be the only other offering on par with the Aussies.

Cheers gents, forum always comes through.

On a small side note when Subaru was mentioned did check it out, don't mind the Levorg, probably the only car I would buy from there.

And then throw in the cost of parts, let alone the $200 fee just to open the bonnet.
I recently paid $1800 for a set of 6 coil packs.

You can still get them, provided you mortgage your house.

See above.

The large affordable market is now Mondeo, Mazda 6 and Liberty.

I dunno what they are doing over at Chrysler.
For years they have been flapping their gums about bringing the Charger here and still nothing but the sound of crickets.
From what I can work out the next gen models wont even be released until 2020 so it really only leaves the 300C.

I've driven the Levorg extensively over here in NZ and I would recommend it. No manual option though.
