Default **** burnt out my XA ute

Been away for work for awhile so havent been able to post - so sad first post in awhile.

Got a knock on the door at 1:30 this morning to find the cops at my doorstep telling me someone had stolen my 1971 XA Ute and burnt it out.

Spewing, original as - still had the original bill of sale in the glovebox. I can understand if someone wanted to steal it to keep it, but just to burn it out WTF? Its a shame because its a bit of history gone, you just never see any on the road anymore....

Sacriledge.

RIP

The reply I'd really like to give will just be censored by the swear filter here.

If only this site didnt have a swear filter........

My heart goes out to you mate. Dam that was a great looking ute.

I dont remember the last time i saw an XA ute on the road, quite rare.

Back in the day my mum had a great looking 'done up' XE and EB XR6, both stolen and burnt out within 2 years of eachother.

The family completly lost it when we saw the EB burnt to charcoal, especially remembering the XE.

I can feel your pain and also the confusion as to why someone would waste a perfectly good car, let alone an XA ute.

She'll be back.

I got her with the view of putting a 460 in her, but couldn't do it to the old girl. Now that its rooted, I can do it and not feel bad.

Just gotta track down another schmicko interior :(

we really need eye for an eye justice (within reason) in this country.

find them.

burn their possessions in front of them. and advise them if ever seen in court again for the same offence you will burn the clothes that they are wearing and dump them back out in public just in their jocks, with a henna tattoo that doesnt wash off for a month on their back as to why this was done.

It’s about respect and it’s a commodity that is in serious decline in our society.

Breaks my heart reading of such happenings.

If they get caught. what happens. bugger all.
The money it cost for the time spent on police working hours involved and the court.
The crim will forget all about it in a week.

So sorry to hear.

How bad is the damage, is there any warpage of the panels etc.

Did they catch the little *&)$#, I guess not.

I can understand that.

You'll bring her back, better than before. Just make sure you keep us updated as it goes, it will make an impressive build that I would love to see as I am sure many here would.

Not good to hear at all when anything like this happens...

Like you said.
Get it back and make it a Hottie (No pun intended)
It will all add to your story of how a stockie transformed.

Cheers.... Kev

Ok i'll try not to swear.. place a few ads around the place offering a reward for information regarding to said scumbags, scumbags are scumbags and a scumbag will sell out another scumbag fairly easily, you may get stuffed around then again you may get the jackpot.. up to you then what you do with such information... just an idea. Absolutely love XA's and i feelin a bit of your pain right now :

that's no good at all. Do people these days have no sense of nostalgia? if they have to burn, why not some 90s korean car that nobody loves. These vehicles are irreplaceable.
