too expensive to fix and maintain? perhaps a BMW 4.4L or a 4.0L would be a more rapid accelerating machine? , the V12 is eaten by a EL XR6 stock for stock.

Yeah but it still has 6 more cylinders than a EL XR6 even if it is slower haha. These things are a bit*h to maintain and get parts for as you said, its still cool though

i agree.
Its like driving a Jag double six 5.3 or 6.0L ,but remember all 4L Fords get 664cc per cylinder, they really are big engines for only a 6 cylinder , so even if the BMW is V12 ,its a small V12 , something that you can sort of say to ya mates , its a V12!!!!! hehe

There is something about I6 motors, i only wish they were something like 4.5L or 5.0L but what ever you like man, go for it.

Buy something easy and relatively cheap to fix.... If you spend 10k on an exotic it might cost you another 5k in the coming years....

I'd buy an ED Sprint! There were another two online for $10,000 last week, one in VIC and the other in QLD. They must have sold over the weekend.

Link example

Very tempting. Hate to think of the cost of parts for the thing though.

I asked the guys over at the european car club, a few guys have them and one said that you can't find used parts for these things so you have to buy new and that the car cost $220,000 back in 1988 so parts aren't cheap for them either.

Though it looks like it could fit in 5 people very comfortably.

i love that feeling, $10000 in your pocket, now which car can i squeeze in for under $10000!

man , it works very well, $10000 cash, bring that to a dealer in cash and you can be driving away with a $11999 or $12999 car, you can drop down the price easy make them happy and make yourself happy.

Just get a nice BA XT 4.0L , you won't regret it.

lol its a nice car why not 5.0L great sound, but hey 185kW versus 182kW which can easily be 190kW on premium petrol from BA XT 4.0?

But XR8 Series 1 for $8000-10000 will be a lot more attractive. why not

Ford built them to order if the customer asked. I have seen a couple over the years. It was not until AU series that Ford stopped offering the manual except on select models.

Definitely the best value car around 10 biggies would be an ED XR8 Sprint - no brainer as it will only ever appreciate in value and they are a great drive.

Cool thread.

I like the idea.

I would go either;

EL 2 XR8 Manual.

VR / VS SS Manual.

Can't be stuffed looking for web links, sorry.

Probably end up spending more than the purchase price over a year or so but they are a nice looking car and a 429 should have reasonable aceleration
