I can understand that for many who lease cars, the end of the lease demands that they have another car lined up to go. Not having a new Ford model released means they'll go to another brand.

What I don't really understand though, is when people who don't lease, who have to wait a few months or so for a new Ford model and they get ants in their pants and run off to another brand.

It reminds me of blokes who 'need' to upgrade their TV or motorbike or DVD or 'insert commodity item here' every year or so to feel they have the best stuff. Never have been able to understand why many feel so inclined.

I reckon there are so many people who are simply not good at waiting for things.

Myself, if I was in the market (not leasing) and the new model was still 6 months away, I'd hold off to see what the new Ford product was like before running off to another brand.

I guess I may ruffle a few feathers with such comments, but it's the way I see it.

Aren't we being forced to wait much longer than the rest of the world?
Ford can't hide the fact that they're flogging an old model in this country and new tech is already available on competitors. Brand loyalty is pretty thin on the ground these days.

We are waiting no longer than Europe - the source of RHD.
The delay is due to the shuffle / closure of manufacturing in Europe.
Genk is to be closed (current location for Mondeo)
Mondeo will move to Valencia.
First Valencia need to move other vehicles to German plants.
Delay is hurting in Europe as well, but is part of their "Better plan for Europe"

So Modeo in Europe has taken a long holliday, seems like a good way to bury a model.

The next Mondeo has been pushed out another year now till 2015 the MC still a good car but that makes for a verrry long model cycle. Im sure a lot of people would be like me and at the end of a 3 yr lease and not wanting to get the "same" car again.

WTF I think is the expression?.
What's going on, the Asian manufacturers must be delighted.
