lowering

Hi all, i have an au2 xr 8 with the factory spoiler kit and 17' wheels and will soon be getting the vehicle lowered. I have been told that 1 inch would be enough as it has the spoiler and anything lower would make the car a little more of a pain in particular speed bumps and driveways. I drive the vehicle every day so dont want too much of a pain however i love the look of the xrs when lowered so would appreciate any comments or recommendations.

Better still any members with pics of lowered cars would be appreciated with comments on the particular height lowered to. i do want the car to sit and look better than its current factory height though.

One inch will make little difference. I would take the car to a suspension specialist and tel them you want it lowered to a certain height. Indicate how low. My car has clearance issues, compounded by the body kit, but i manage at 90 'ish' mm front clearance.

Agree that you might be happier going a little lower, and it shouldn't compromise the ride quality and/or snag speed bumps to much.

Get the tape measure out and measure up how low you'd like it, both front and back (they will be different) and take those numbers to the suspension specialist. Tell them that is how low you want the car and can they help and are they willing to change the springs if they get it wrong.
