Default Sydney Bseries Parkes Event convoy

Now im assuming alot of people heading from sydney(and surrounding) to parks would wanna go in a group? ie and turn it into a cruise. well since its only a couple of weeks away lets get some ideas turning and figure out an easy place for everyone to get together to head there.

My suggestions would be Thornleigh McDonalds for a Northern sydney meeting - big carpark, lots of space - breakky etc.. Its just off the F3 on pennant hills road and its just a short trip down to the M2 to the M7 for those people travelling down the F3, like from newcastle etc

If not, there could be a western sydney meet, or even a southern sydney meet but i dont know those area's so i couldnt comment on a place those people can meet up.

whats your idea's?

Are we talking on the friday or the sat? Thornleigh sounds good to me. Then down castle hill rd, windsor rd, old windsor rd to windsor then bells line to lithgo then bathurst, orange, parks!

Well it depends i guess, who's gonna leave on friday(im probably gonna head there friday some time) but im sure there will be a few people who cant take the time off work.

Bawag, your idea sounds good, i was thinkin we'd just jump on the M7 but that way would be much more fun

OK how early is early? say a 5hr trip, maybe meet Thornleigh maccas at 6am leave there at 6:30 or 7am that will get us there bout lunch? Enuogh time to sus out the park, get settled in at accom, give the cars a once over and head to the pub for some rum!

What does every one think, i just thought Thornleigh as it is good for those that come down from the coast and its not too far from the M2 for th people coming from the city, and from there we can easily go Bells Line of Road!

So who is going from NSW (Sydney)??

Grum
Fev
Bawag
J_tank???
Feather???
Ruger???
Airmon???
Mudzy???

Its only a 330KM Trip and shouldnt take more than 4.5hrs, maybe a bit longer if we stop for lunch and maybe a quick "hot lap" of Mount Pan.

I'm thinking Castle Hill might be a better meet point and I don't see the need to meet before 9am.

Can people coming try get a UHF radio - it makes cruises more fun/safe/easy

This will be a cruise with the intention of getting there quickly but safe so no silly business or races up Bells.

All it takes? It can be done in a bit over 3hrs but thats not legal.

WTF do you need to let your car cool down? We will be there with plenty of time.

Ausbird, when & where are you coming from? Where can we meet you? Lithgow?

going through the mountains add's a bit of time to the trip, easier to meet at Lithgow.

I'm sure we can swap numbers and make a few phone calls to meet up.

Nope wont make it Greg. Not unless someone rocks up at my front door with $500 cash and wants to take these 18s off my hands by Friday.

Scratch that, wont be able to make it either way, have to be somewhere on Saturday, one off thing I can't miss. Sorry guys, next year eh?

Although, if I get bored, and depending on my friday night I might come up for a cruise to Lithgow.

I'm with Grum, 9ish meet in the Castle Hill area, then the scenic route up to Parkes. I've got about 4 handheld radios 2 so for those who don't I will be able to provide for the trip there and back. We can cruise up, stay in touch, have a bit of a laugh and still get there in plenty of time for the Saturday night festivities.
