Default Low washer fluid level

Hi Mondeo drivers, Still loving my 2010 Mondeo, however the warning light for low washer fluid level keeps coming on even though I've filled up the washer tank. Any ideas? I tried looking on this forum, but couldn't find the answer. Thanks in advance!

If it's on all the time then check that the wire to the sensor isn't damaged or disconnected. It's one of those where no signal = a negative signal.

Cheers

here's a trick for you, I had similar issue about a year ago.

Blow into the filler neck with all the lung power you have, obviously lips sealing the tube and then release and move your face out of the way (in case you get splash back) then go check for the error.

It shouldn't show the error anymore.

TIP: now is time to get washer fluid instead of water and fill it when near empty. I find it's much better for the pump/system than water alone. (if currently using water only that is)

Hi Cobrin and Russellw, thank you both for those suggestions. I will try both and let you know how I go and yes, I am just filling with water, will get some washer fluid instead. Thx

Timely post as I filled mine for the first time yesterday after warning came on.

Handy to see if mine stays off and if not some fix its here to try.

Good luck with yours.

Would you believe it hasn't come back on since I made this post! I've been waiting for it to come on so I could try these things and now it's suddenly stopped! Will remember this for next time though. Good luck with yours sailaway!

The switch on these things are pretty simple (just a float switch). You can check to see if its the switch by shorting out the plug its connected to. Should act the same as if the tank was filled.

Same problem with my 2012 Mondeo. It looks like I have to crawl underneath (and probably take-off the big cover) to get at the switch - can anyone confirm that is correct ?

I noticed mine ('09) were easier to get to with the LH/F wheel arch off.
