I have posted this in the tech section, but didnt get many responses.
Can anyone plz help me out. I just recieved my EL police ecu today. Except there is a discrepancy in that the sticker says EEC-IV, will this run my EL which is EEC-V???? I have previously read this being discovered b4 on ff, but i am concerned it may cause damage if i run it. the part number is 96DA-12A650-NB and the computer number on the top is 6DNB Is this computer from an earlier ED??? Did EF run EEC-IV??? Any help, or more info would be much appreciated. |

C2H5OH - Ethanol the drinkable Alcohol
and it's interaction with your body What does happen between your oral cavity and your small intestine while consuming alcohol. To understand the the complicate interaction between alcohol and your body, you should have a clear head. First the introduction: The correct Name for drinkable alcohol is ETHANOL, C2H5OH ( CH3-CH2-OH ) There are a lot more alcohols out there but they are definitly not recommended for oral consumption. Hi Karl.: |

My EF says EEC-5, IV has only 60 pins at back, V has 110 odd, a lot more pins anyway.

Contentious issue.
Technically EF and EL are both EEC-V.... although both share many characteristics of EEC-IV, EL has a stronger bond with its predecessor EEC-IV as they went back to the 60pin connector. EF was an EEC-IV's memory banks in an EEC-V ECU (minus OBD-II) with a 104pin EEC-V connector. EL was an EEC-IV's memory banks in an EEC-V ECU (minus OBD-II) with a 60pin EEC-IV connector... Lol, pseudo a much better term ;)

As for complete combustion. Well iirc 2C8H18 + 25O2 = 18H20 + 16CO2 That seems to be allright...(im probably wrong)

C8H18 + 15O2 + N2 = 9H20 + 8CO2 +NO2 + NO3
I think....

thing is there are way to many variations of incomplete combustion, depending on AFR's. Some rich mixtures will have straight C (Carbon) as a byproduct.

Yah. This is the only thing I learnt in science. h and you gotta make both sides equal. Matter cannot be created nor destroyed.
all our falcons will be under the 'incomplete combustion' catagory. Some dont even combust at all. Mostly Ea's tho |

I bought the ECU on ebay, from Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage. I believe they still have a few in stock. you can try ebay, or give them a call direct.
Anyway, after much asking around, including FF and calling 4 ford dealers, i finally got an answer, that YES its an EL ecu to fit a 6ycl Auto with Police Pack, and YES it will run fine, even thought it states EEC-IV. From what i understand the EL reverted back to a some of the old EEC-IV programming due to its switch back to a Distributor based ignition system, although it was still labelled EEC-V. Thanks guys |
