Mobile phone problem?

I just bought a new Sony Ericsson j200i (I think it has an i on the end of it, the box that was sitting next to me last night has been taken by the f*ck up fairy again

: ).

Does anyone else have the same phone as this and if so are you having problems with it such as it getting so hot (where the battery, screen and speaker is) that it actually gets uncomfortably hot and you have to end the call?

I'm going to take it back as soon I find the freakin' box and my warranty. Dammit it was sitting on the bench next to me last night, is nothing sacred? Exuse me while I demolish my house looking for the damn thing.

sounds no good.... probly one of those with built in heaters.. just turn the heat down... lmao..

there putting way 2 much uneeded just on phones these days..

anyway hope you find the box and get it fixed or replaced

Go look under the kids beds &/or in the toy boxes ;) ...... not sure how old your kids are ..... but that would be my 1st port of call to find it

If the phone is heating up heaps ,it is not dissipating heat from the electronics or the radiation is heating up your face and the phone at the same time. As the mobile phone industry denies that this is not dangerous,I do not like the potential safety hazards of these devices.

Hey did you buy it from a phone shop?
If so explain to them that the phone is faulty, produce the receipt
and they should be able of issue you with a new phone on the spot,
and take the new box to send back to the manufacture.

is that the current model black one? ie replacement for T610..?

im thinking of upgrading to the black one.. wouldnt mind hearing your thoughts (other than the heating up lol... that sounds nasty)

Yep, I bought it a week ago in the Vodaphone shop, I still have everything it came with, paper work, box, etc. I'll take it back this week coming.

Be damned if I'm giving them back their Ferrari Grand Prix cap though.

It's a very dark blue, almost black. The battery lasts two days if you don't play any games on it. If you talk on it for longer than ten minutes even holding it away from your ear you can still feel the heat radiating from it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, pay a few extra dollars and get another brand, I should have known better I've only ever had trouble with Ericsson phones.

2 day battery life? My first phone (like 6 years ago) lasted longer than that.
Current phone, Nokia 6610 easily lasts over 10 days.
Definitely get another phone. I would expect more than that these days.

ive only had trouble with nokia's, mainly screens going black or disapearing..

i went through 3 of the fairly late ones (under warranty for all..) i forget the model... the one with the metalic blue clip on face and then the next model had the blue screen,,,
i only had it for the contract period, didnt want it after that..

the ericsson which i bought about 18 months ago has been trouble free, other than the little joystick sometimes doesnt wanna work.... but i work in a pretty dusty environment so i presume theres plenty of dust and junk in behind the joystick.....
i get about 8 - 10 days battery from my T610, dependant on weather i play games or not...

i was thinking of going the new ericsson again because theyre throwing in a slimline PS2 with the deal

i think yours might be chewing through batteries because of the heating problem..... it'd have to be a short circuit

I still get 14 days on an old Phillips I gave my son. That is a great phone although becoming a little dated.
A Nokia I have I get about 4 days but that thing has so many features, they chew up the battery power.
Nfi what's wrong with the new one, I'm just going to take it back and tell them I want a replacement.

Same here. About 4 Nokias Ive had and now onto my first Sony Ericsson. Bloody great phone, except for the battery! Only gettin about 3-4 days max from it. I only get 2 days if I use it heaps.

Both my Ericssons last all week before I need to charge the battery. My old work phone, Nokia 5110, used to get so hot that I had to put in my lunch bag with an ice brick over lunch. Sounds like your phone is haveing some strange issues.

I bought the Nokia 7610 not long ago . Surfed the net ( cost me shitloads ) , 1.3 megapixel camera and video which is great for perving on women ( with zoom enabled ) , and mp3 player . Forgetting to disconnect the internet ( cost me more than shitloads ) , and hitting wrong buttons is a pain .My advice ....don't buy one , spend your money on mods.

Yes, excellent phone mate. Only problem so far is that the joystick isnt as responsive as it used to be.

Vodaphone actually called me yesterday to see how I was enjoying my new phone. I told them about the problems I was having and they told me to bring it back in so they could exchange it. They gave me $10- credit on my other mobile too for my troubles. So it's all good.

so.. you're the seccond person that thinks the joystick looses responsivness..
i thought mine was from the environment i work in.
might be a common ericsson prob..

accidentally dropped the fone onto the concrete today - slipped outa my hands while i was carrying stuff...., bounced on driveway twice.....

thought oh, thats stuffed....... pick it up and its off - hmm great....... turn it on, still works fine...
