au3 xr8's are fantastic, i owned one last year, but that dream was put to an end by a navara....
i just felt the vct would be better suited to me at the moment. provided they are not too problematic |

Well if you had one then you certainly know what there like then, and yes they are fantastic, having recently purchased one for the missus (AU3 XR8 220 kw)
You wont be as impressed with the other option, but best way is to drive one and see what you think...They have all the usual AU probs, some more, some less, more positive than negative from my experience. |

im just mainly concerned about the VCT part of it since ive never really seen any information regarding issues/problems. hopefully its just like the HP XR6 with the exception of VCT.

...and the IRS you'd already be familiar with, plus a few other minor upgrades over the HP.

Ok speaking from experience with dads manual 2002 model VCT. It has done over 84k. Strut tops can get noisy and its a very common problem with AU IRS models. Not expensive but set aside around $300-400 to get it sorted.
You should have no problems with the engine and it delivers good torque from down low. The other downside is that it uses quite alot of fuel for a 6 cylinder. I had an AUII XR6 HP and the difference to the VCT is unbelievable. I can get about 100-150km more easily.

Drop Casper a pm is the guy with the VCT knowledge, and im pretty sure that lowering a VCT equipped car wont effect the T/C

Thankyou so much for all your help guys, im rather inept about these things but am very keen on the AU scene and will try to involve myself however i can and im a bit nervous bout asking casper, i know its prolly strange, i just feel rather dumb since im surrounded by people who know so much about these things. i can't wait to be able to give help to others.
