I saw the rumours of the GR Corolla and the reveal would be today.

The difference between that and the GR Yaris is that is the body on the Yaris is bespoke where as the Corolla won't be so should be cheaper with an added power bump.

They can hit a sweet spot there in the market, certainly not boring. I think it looks and sounds great on paper.

April 1. Corolla Cross is expected here late this year. Given its positive reviews overseas, it might hopefully put the C-HR out of its misery.

Getting off topic, anyone who's ever been in Tokyo on a Friday night will have seen Salarymen get drunk to the point of passing out, or worse. I got back to my hotel (over the road from the PM's residence & heavily policed) one night (Friday...) to find someone expensively dressed, passed out face down, spreadeagled, in a rather well-refreshed state, bringing up the contents of his drinking session.... Cops didn't care. Machine washable suits are a thing there for a reason...

A previous owner of our Newsagency many years ago owned a green Toyota Seca ... He also ran a VHS video distribution service using the car at the time that required weekly visits here in Tassie to the West Coast which from here is at least five hours trip . He had clicked over 600,000 kms on that car at one stage and still had the car when he and his wife sold the business and retired .

Let's also not forget the mighty longevity of the Falcon inline sixes . A really good mate of mine is one example .. He bought a very , very used AU series 2 Falcon station wagon about five years ago as a short term replacement because it was so cheap . It was in excess of 450,000 kms at the time . He took it off the road about a year ago with about 650,000 on her and still engine wise going pretty well ...rattley lifters on start up and idle not withstanding . I am fascinated by some of the similar numbers I've heard the Ford inline sixes have done ..Probably why they were for a long time the car of choice for taxi services. ..

The rear wheel flare a bit how ya going, as is the 3 tail pipes.
Rest is bang on IMO.
Also manual only is pretty sweet.


Off topic, how ugly are the US spec positioning lamps. Just look terrible.

Not as reliable as they used to be, that's for sure. Pretty funny when this is their defence.

Toyota also argued the diesel particulate filter "is not essential for the operation of essential parts of the relevant vehicles", "the relevant vehicles were operational in any driving environment", and white smoke was a characteristic of normal operation.
