Default Overheating laser????

Hi guys, the missus laser is overheating constantly after bout 10 mins, has a strange knocking noise to boot! When heater is on temp comes down though! 96 laser liata, any help would be great!

Take the radiator cap of, when cold
Start the engine , look for water gyser effect coming from radiator, sure sign of a head gasket,head failure
Take the dipstick out ,look for signs of water residue
IF the above seem fine, take all the plugs out and look for one thats majorly different in colour
If still the above are fine, nice simple checks
Get the radiator recoed, rodded out by a rad shop , the rad is blocked

Check both if fitted Thermo fans are coming on when warmed up
