Default Canberra To AFF Drags Heathcote - Fri 7 & Sat 8 Jun 2019

Hi All,

Every year there is a group of us that go from Canberra to Heathcote for the AFF Drag Nationals. In the past we have teamed up with some of the boys and girls from Tumut under the banner of Team Brindabella. Also, in the past we have met our Sydney friends at Yass and travelled together. If there is interest from club members to attend I will try to organise this.

For the Canberra guys and girls, our usual meet point for Barton Hwy cruises is Gold Creek Maccas Car Park. Travel time from Canberra to Heathcote is a good 6 to 7 hours depending on stops. The gates usually open at 4pm at Heathcote, so to maximise daylight time to set up camp, we should be there at 4.

To cater for meet ups and the associated delays, the Canberra crew will need to be at the meet point at 07:00 for a departure at 07:30.

Our UHF channel will be Channel 10.

Please add your name to the list below and reply to the original AFF thread using the link below if you wish to come. Please go to the original thread for full details for the event.

Awesome to see so much interest this year. Awesome to have you tag along Max and other newbies. It will be a blast!

I will be booking two double garages this year again - it might be a little crowded this year - Oh, Chris, Ray, Mark and I all snore! Take that as you will! Enjoy. Lookig forward to it!

Good evening all.

I have sent off an email to HPR management requesting two side by side (co-joined) garages. Whilst I do not expect to hear back from HPR management to confirm, as per previous years, this does not mean we get a twin garage. It may well also mean that we will. Clear?

Hopefully I can convince HPR management that I have emailed this request, a month in advance. In the past 3 years, I have not had a problem, and always had a garage, but please be prepared to have your own tent/swag accommodation, just in case.

I am so looking forward to this event again. It is such a fun couple of days.

Are you coming Bendigo Wazza?

Just a reminder/FYI for everyone.

There's no card facilities at HPR. BRING CASH.

$60/day racing
$25/day spectating
camping is included in either of the above.

There's a canteen on site for drinks/food cash required there too.

Big Thanks to all the guys and girls who turned out to race and spectated on the weekend.
The weather was fanatic as was the variety of cars and HPR say we a very well behaved community of racers.
So many interstate members great to see you come back again, we thank you for your continued support.
Thanks to Russ C, HPR staff, Russ W for his never ending work in Admin of AFF.
Without Woosha I would have been lost, the last 3 years he stepped up and he has done a lot of work getting sponsorship money. (hats off)

I would like have a discussion on what racers thought about test n tune n brackets?
We will do this in another thread later.
I would also like to see interstate members list their names next year with their State next to it.
Eg: Johnxr6 (s.a)

I will try and update the winners names so if you help out please post.
Hopefully we see you all next year.
Cheers
Stu
