Default BA Premium sound - terrible radio reception.

Hey guys i have an 04 BA XR6 with factory premium sound and the FM radio reception is no where near as good as our Territory or BA Ute.... Its always scratchy and really isnt what it should be.

Any ideas on what could be wrong, its not an earthing problem as the it doesnt increase or decrease when you accelerate etc, but more a signal problem. Where is the FM antenna located, i know the rear window incorporates the AM, but could the FM be stuffed?

Thank you very much!

Hi

Does ur car have tinted windows? aftermarket tint????? on the ba/bf's you have to use special tint where it dosen't interfere with the reception.....territories have the antenna built on the roof from memory......if ur car under warranty, and u have the right tint in ur car, you could try a change over icc unit from ur ford dealership, that way you can illuminate the problem, we had few ba's with faulty fm tuners.

cheers

Thanks Fadi,

Seems as tho its an antenna issue where the antenna connects to the black box in the rear left area.. when you move it the clarity of the sound changes.

Is there an accessory aerial that could be mounted on the rear screen, similar to a cell phone aerial, and plugged into the aerial amplifier by the rear screen to improve reception. The rear screen has been tinted but the tinter assures me it is the right stuff to use.
