Hi everyone. Thanks for the kind words.

This is a 1980 Ford Escort RS2000. (Rebuilt in 2002, this is the second motor in it, was on carbies N/A.)
It has an exorbitantlist of modifications. Some of the features are below:
1. YBB Sierra Cosworth T3 turbo engine. 220kW atw on 18psi. Only done 1500kms. Much more power and boost to be extracted from this very shortly but 220kW power in 950kg car is absolutely berserk. Many grins. Custom radiator, intercooler and oil/air separator, all hoses and fittings silicon/braided or anodised ally. Steel case 5 speed gearbox.
2. Autronic SMC ECU, with Autronic 500R CDI direct fire igntion and 4x MSD Blaster ignition Coils, magnecore leads and Bosch injectors and 044 fuel pump with 2.2L surge tank.
3. 2 seater with rear lounge removed and 2x Sparco Corsa race seats. EL Falcon Carpet.
4. Extra gauges (Boost, fuel psi and oil temp), in dash tacho changed to 10,000rpm from use with previous N/A Cossie Motor
5. Coil overs with 275lb springs on 3in shorter strut and insert, reverse eye lowered rear leaves, bilstein shocks, panhard rod and radius arms. Adjustable strut tops and 24mm swaybar.
6. 305mm rotors and 4 pot callipers, Borg Warner 8.75 limo diff 4.11:1 with 260mm disks and pbr callipers. 16x7 Superlites and 205/45/16 Kumho semi slicks (turns them in 3rd gear when cold!)
.....and much more. (it will not let me add more photos, says exceeded my allowance - That is BS at 400kb!)

It is the original motor from a Sierra Cosworth in NSW. It is freshened up, but still standard bore, it had only travelled a short distance in the car; I added some aftermarket ancillaries to complete the installation. A very good find.

Hi guys - there is just so so so much to say when it comes to the Cossie conversion. The initial cost of the engine is about 4K (buy only a good one)...If you build a monster and do it properly then you will buy some tasty aftermarket electronics and injectors etc along the way and watch to cost go up (you can just keep it standard if you like). Like with all things, buying the good gear will result in a huge grin and many years of happiness. I recommend it only to the extreme Escort and Cosworth fanatic. Else just go for a turbo pinto with sierra injection.
Most importantly you must upgrade the gearbox/diff and brakes to cope with the torque. Good luck............
The motor uses the same block but just a stronger version 205 or 4x4 200 block......

What an absolutely awesome Esky !

My dream car is an RS1800 BDA, but I don't have 20,000 pounds for the engine to build a replica.

Your RS must be awesome to drive - I'm jealous mate !

It is absolutely berserk to drive, but extremely sure footed (tyred hehehe) thanks to some serious suspension and brake upgrades. When she comes on boost and you get catapulted to ludicrous speed one realises why we love Escorts especially with Cossie power. I look forward to another track day...

Awsome car mate! I had a RS Saphire Cosworth that was great fun. Same engine in a 300kg lighter car would make it insane. I have considerd the same conversion into a capri. Youve gota love the old eskies!

Cheers

I hope to be able to do some decent times around Wakefield, Oran and Eastern Creek...and due to peer pressure I would say I awill attend at least one drag night to see what it can do, but my interest lies in thrashing it around a track.....and blowing the doors off 'rice burners' in this old beat up esky, well not too beaten up.
