Default $27K for a sprint - I wish

Another Sprint for sale on Carpoint. This one has 70,000kM on it but I dont think it is worth $27,000.
It lists as 1 owner but they have pained the lower 1/3rd of the car sliver ala XE ESP etc.

I wish my Sprint was worth that much...

Then there is this one for $19K with only 50,000km on it.
White again.. I think some of the info in the description is up the creek.. ie.. Air bag..

Noosacuda,
Yep agree some odd info in the description. The $19K White one is a good price for a 50,000km car. But the $27K is way over the top. I see your is still for sale. No luck I assume?

Our EB XR8 had a woodgrain dash, i believe in 'Just Parts' there was a mob advertising faux wood for Falcons etc. Could also be ex-LTD?

The $19,000 for the second one seems a bit high (as an Auto) in the current market but would be a car to hold onto thats for sure.

I would have thought maybe $16,000 to $18,000 being an Auto?

What would you guys consider a reasonable price for a Polynesian Green sprint, 5sp with 220,000 kms? A friend is about to sell his, wondering what would be a reasonable price to pay... kms seem high to me, do the sprint motors last that long?

just my opinion, the seccond he painted the silver on that sprint he totally wrecked its resale..... ok, doesnt look bad, but its not original..... and to be made original will require a respray....

if i were in the market for a sprint, and it was reasonably priced, i'd look elsewhere first simply because its been changed...

As a manual with those kind of K's I would be guessing about $12,000 to $15,000.

At 220,000km for $15,000 you would want: Perfectly Straight body (Poly Green show scrathes BAD), manual in good condition, original wheels in perfect nick (no touch parking) and also original spare. Interior good condition with no rips or tears, esp in the 'Chaser' fabric.

Factory options such as cruise doesn't seem to add much though a SunRoof does. The original Sprint kit was rare, especially on the earlier cars so it should add a bit of collectability, if not value.

Ours is an Poly Green auto and when we bought it, she had 130,000km, all original wheels (inc spare), Log Books and the whole lot. Only Mod was filter and full exhuast. Picked it up about 18 months ago for $11,500 but I think that was pretty keen buying.

Cheers,
Lumpy

Mate, As per Lumpys post. Depends on options.
I would think with 220,000ks $10-$13K would stop it unless it was in top nick. The motors are good for large Ks as long as they have kept correct engine coolant in it. As the head bolts tend to rust..

No, mine hasn't sold as yet,a few photo collectors though, but i am going through a "I like the car" stage after a trip to Brissy and back.Over 300hp and still got 27(ish) miles per gallon with the A/C on! If only it was auto....

Noosacuda,
Mate thats not bad mileage. Maybe now you like it again... put a more gentle bump stick in it so it is more driveable. I think of ya each time I drive mine at 60km or less in top.. No problems... Or just convert it to auto... and keep the bits..

svo347,
Mate I mean those bolts that are int he water jacket of the motor as the water galleries tend to rust if the correct additive is not used... (So I have heard.>)

Well yes and no.
The EBGT was based on a Fairmont, and was heavier due to all the bodykit bits.
The Sprint was based on a Falcon, so it was lighter and didnt have a body kit.
