Well, now that this thread is back again, I have to say my car still hasn't been on a tow truck since that 1st crash, but it did have to be towed... across xgme's paddock after my fuel pump died.

Sure does. I was also concerned about the pedal box at first because I have had pedal box issues in the past. Thankfully it's just the cable, but I'm not happy about the mechanic it went too. They said it would be done first thing this morning. Then they rang up, told me they didn't get the cable, and it won't be ready till Monday. It ruined my plans for the weekend. If I'd known it wouldn't have been ready to Monday, I would have had it moved to a servo or something, gone into Repco today, and did it myself.

0 Touch wood never had any issues while on the road in my EB or ED but my old VH shattered clutch stopped me going anywhere.. been pretty lucky with my cars. Had plenty enough hickups doing conversions in the garage though lol

Yeah, that happened last year, but it's been on a tow truck one more time since. After my alternator died at Trafalgar, I managed to get all the way to near Pakenham before everything pretty much shut down. That was a fun night :(

I had an XA GT two door a few years back, didn't have the original motor in it, the motor actually came out of a blown race boat(though started life in an XC in the beginning) Anyways, most of the go fast bits were taken off, and the strong internals were left behind, so I did a bit of work to the motor(my first half engine rebuild) and the thing lost 8 rear wheels, due to either snapped wheel studs or broken diffs or axles. Snapped uni's twice, blew the gearbox once.

Funnily enough I still have the same motor (i'll be buried with it) I put a 460 in the GT, pimped it out (had no matching numbers so I didn't see an issue) and put the motor and a race spec C4 gearbox into my XW (I still own it)

to date the same motor in a different car blew up 5 C4 gearboxes in 6 months, two of them brand new, also destroyed the original 9" diff centre about an hour after doing the engine transplant and driving it. the longest one to last was out of an XD I think, though that died too. It now has a bull nose toploader till I can afford to restore the car again.

The engine is a monster, it ran an 11.8 on the quarters with far less mods being done to it than I have put together now. Back then it had points ignition, 9.5.1 compression...

So, you know....I don't mind how many times it goes on the trailer, as long as the broken bits means it's still making serious grunt.

Lost all coolant on the way to work. Turned around, and made it half way home, but to save the thing from cooking itself, I called the NRMA, and they organised me a tow.

First (and only time) any of my cars have been towed.

Yep. Now I know 2 towies! lol

I hope the EA doesn't have to go near a tow truck for a while yet! It seems it's trouble period seems to be over (touch wood) as it hasn't had a real problem in months.
