Default Probe Transmission

Hi.

I have a 94 Probe automatic. Starts first time every time, revs smoothly, but when I put it in gear the engine stalls. It definitely goes into gear so it's not just a fuel cut out issue. The obvious answer is the transmission but I wonder if any of you know of anything less obvious that may cause this problem. Thanks.

Not 100% certain but I do recall this having been a problem from time to time with ATX Probes (I only hand the MTX's myself). I'm sure your answer will be here:

Default Re: Probe Transmission

Good advice thanks DRU842. I'm amazed at how many options there are to it being a transmission problem. Of course, the least expensive of them will look the most likely to the person paying for it to be repaired so I'm conscious of that too. It may be the transmission but fingers crossed that it's not. I will post the outcome once fixed so everyone can keep it in mind, and thanks for your help with it. Cheers, Mark
