I seem to have lost track of how much I've spent now! Just the front bumper alone including painting cost about $700. While most of the parts have been bargains, they all add up.

Almost ditto. Still haven't received the total bill yet - but am expecting the final one to be at least $600 in parts alone, plus any labour they may charge.

Car cost $3500
Repairs to date $2000 (includes completely new and upgraded cooling system )
Expected further repairs $1000
Bill yet to be received $1000

So that's $7.5K for a 95 "rough" NF Fairlane V8 on gas, but at the end of it, it will be mechanically sound, but still rough (a sleeper, I guess).

Actually had the receptionist at work have a go at me last week when I told her what had been spent on the running gear, she reckons I'm mad. I asked her how long she'd been smoking - since age 13. I then told her to calculate what it costs her per year to my age (35) and see what she gets. The final outcome would be $57k.
So I then told her with my vice - I still come out cheaper, gets me where I wanna go and won't leave me with lung cancer. With the 7k left over I could go that blower and with the change, spot her a few packets of ciggies.

We don't talk about cars anymore.
Well said and thats what I tell everyone too. Plus we have something to show for our money, smokers and drinkers dont have anything to show.

Paid $8500 for the EF 3 years ago. Spent around 9k on mods/repairs. 5k of that was motor, head, aircon. the other 4 was manual conversion, wheels, lowering, sound, other interior goodies and what not. So probably closer to 10k mods/repairs

Since "my" last post, which was at $5500, I've spent $300 on an amp, $100 on wiring, $250 on suspension, $120 on cam, 120 on short shifter + $50 for g'knob, $1000 getting the clutch n box replaced + headgasket, and about to drop $1000-1500 on a set of rims.

So now we're easy up to 10 grand including all the other bits n pieces, but I'd say only 5g is mods - and it still looks stock (minus upcoming rims).

Im just going to quote myself here haha. Havnt spent anything on it since, just a set of front wheel bearings and doing a couple of small jobs on it. How ever.... i have decided in the near future i want to turbo it so iv done som research and figured out what i want so for the next 6 + months it will be a case of buying bits when i find them cheap etc.
