Default Fiesta ST - Supply vs Demand

Howdy Peeps,

Just gathering insight as to whom has ordered their Fiesta ST and if they have been giving any details of delivery/arrival or even a VIN.

I myself have placed an order/deposit, early September for a Whitey and have been informed via dealer that the next allocation wont be until Mid November - December with only 30 cars coming. They are unable to get from another dealer unless a direct swap.

Anyone else heard the same or different information from dealers?

Im in sales for Ford and I ordered mine in August for a late November delivery. every dealer in eastern region gets allocated 1 ST a month. its pretty harsh.

Is this the case of Ford Australia underestimating demand again like they did with the WS Fiesta launch in 2009?

Or just that Australia is a low priority market so we have to wait?

Or is it ford keeping supply low to keep the price high?

A case of world wide demand being so high and outstripping supply. Being so far from Germany doesn't help either. I'm sure Ford Oz would love more, but the bad state of Ford Europe is prob a greater priority for Ford

They can barely satisfy European demand for the FiST, Ford Oz is lucky to get any stock.

Glad I got mine on release. The three year wait was enough without signing on the dotted line and waiting X amount of extra time!

Would also think that a lot of the problem stems from just what color mix FA ordered.
Seems to be a heap of Orange ST's and not to many white or blue.
The original Orange ST is still at my local dealer. I'll have to go and have a look to see if they have been "allocated" another one as more than a month has passed.

Yeah Ford Oz seems to have ordered a metric s*** tonne of Orange with a smattering of blue and white. Molten Orange is to the FiST what Tiger Mica was to the VT SS.

I'm interested in seeing red, black and silver STs hit or shores. IMO the ST will look tight in Ingot silver!

Yep.
Won't sell it at that price.
But like everything, that's the opening gambit.

Unless there is a "supplied by" date you may have little options.
I know the Toyota 86 have had delays in the original supply by date and don't know if anyone has been able to get get out of the contract.
If I were you I would be searching the Ford dealers close to you for the car spec you want. If/when you find it, take it to your dealer and insist they obtain that car or threaten them with breach of contract as you know the vehicle is obtainable within the Ford network.
I reckon they'll move heaven and earth to make you a satisfied customer. That is, after all, their job.

What was that statement Ford made earlier I swear I heard that supply wasn't going to be a issue with this vehicle? Or is my memory failing....

I waited 7 months for my 86 to be delivered.
but it was quite exciting as my tracked ticked from "order confirmed", then to "scheduled for production" then "in production" etc etc, tracking of the Trans Future 7 into port kembla, and the final hours waiting for delivery, including flying to canberra to pick it up and drive back to sydney.

drove the ST, liked it, didn't love it. so glad I got the 86.

Hi all. I'm wondering what drive away deals people are getting? Given the rather short supply, dealers I've talked to seemed rather stubborn on 28k. Is 27k drive away realistic still?

The orange ST is still at Shepparton Ford.
They are obviously holding to the full price.

Ive got my money in the bank but contracted for $29k a few months ago, still waiting to hear when delivery might be....

So if you buy anything get a delivery date on the contract, otherwise hold onto your money until they have stock.

Picked up my Molten Orange FiST at the start of September, had made initial enquiries in July after the FiST had featured on Top Gear UK, and stayed in regular contact with the sales bloke, was the first one delivered to city ford the week before, drove away for $29,900 inc tints on windows.
Have yet to spot another one on the road or in a carpark!
Trust me, any of you waiting on one, It'll b worth it!

Put a deposit down on a molten orange on Monday. Pick it up as soon as my finance is done. Hopefully Saturday. 27.8k drive away.
